Thinking about upgrading a laptop, 4gb ram, i3, and an hdd. Should I upgrade the ram to 8b or the HDD to an SD? Mostly use it to web browsing, and occasional app development.

SSD will probably be the best thing that has happened to you in a while if you never used one.

@dontPanic agreed, it'll get you the most noticeable benefit of the two.

SSD is really a great upgrade, but with 4gb of ram you might be on the low end.
I'd look on my ram usage, and if its often close to the limit it might be better to do the ram.

If that isn't a problem, an SSD would give you a nice performance boost.l while the ram might not be noticeble.

If you can only do one, then upgrade the HDD to an SSD, without a doubt. i3 is alright, and the RAM is sufficient if you're running Linux.

But if you can do both the SSD and the RAM, do that. 8GB would be a good shout.

@awnumar I'm planning on doing both at some point, just wondering which one I should go with at first
