@MissDirection today I learned what it truly means to be a "codeslut". I understand the decision you made to change your username due to the circumstances but I want you know that I'm now seriously considering prepending 'CodeSlut' to my username.

To be a code slut, in my definition, is to fuck with all things code.
I don't remember the idiot(s) that murked the name with shame, I remember being scornful towards them for their immaturity...But now I know whole the truth, and that what they were also unknowingly shaming was any engineer who has had an interest in anything related to code. Fuck them, in a sense they've fucked themselves, because I personally believe that as developers there's a little (code)slut in each and every one of you. Those who are willing to fuck with all of it and have a damn good time doing it. To dabble in a little bit of this and a little bit of that from time to time. Whether or not we stick with it is irrelevant, it's the experience we gain from it that makes us better people. To shame a code slut is to shame the pursuit of knowledge. And to shame the pursuit of knowledge is to shame my purpose in life. I stand by my pursuit to fuck with it all, no tech is sacred - I will fuck with it!

Please @MissDirection don't let my new username stop you from ever changing yours back to what it was or take this as some form of a personal insult/joke. I'm serious - I understand now. I'm not even sure if you realised it, but QueenCodeSlut held such beauty and truth to it that many(including myself) couldn't even begin to fathom. That is enlightenment of the utmost pulchritude, please accept this username change as a gesture of honor and respect towards you and any other fellow humans with their own endeavors of truth and knowledge.

    P.S. You're all a bunch of sluts! Have a nice day 👌

I concur with @CodeSlutLaser; @MissDirection i respected the meaning behind your previous username and the fact that you had the balls to go through with it. We bow to you, our Queen ❤

@AllenII amen, long live the Queen!

@1989 It very well may be the case I suppose, but truth be told I really dig the name 'CodeSlut'. Even if the revelation did come from a terse chat in a youtube stream, I do mean what I said. As for 'long live the Queen' I thought it to be upholding of the whole devRantia joke with all those other royal devs 😀

I'll stand by it '89, but I think you should consider it as something other than attention-seeking. Even if there isn't a ton of appeal to you I do hope you find some truth in any of this. I've now got this term burned in my mind and I plan on referring to myself as a CodeSlut for years to come so get used to it I guess lol.

That's what "codeslut" meant to me as well. And I have a good (albeit dark and often crude) sense of humor, and I can take a good ribbing, but it was starting to make long comment battles happen and some people just didn't get it. So back to my original username I went. Thanks for the support though. 🙂

@MissDirection I knew you had to of had a similar reason for it! But yeah it wasn't initially meant to back up your decision. It's just that the term popped up in the live stream chat, and I had to throw credit to you where it was due. Obviously I didn't come up with it but when I started to think about it more and more it made me really wish I had.
I didn't know how you'd take it, so I felt as though I had to add some extra stuff in there to ensure I wasn't going to upset anyone.

@MissDirection many of us here have a dark sense of humor, and I saw for myself the drama it stirred up.

I sometimes feel like there is a whole different version of devrant out there which everyone else is using. I never see any of these dramas, only the same memes being repeated every three hours ☹

@Jonnyforgotten I love your username juxtaposed with your comment :)
But yeah, I sometimes feel like that as well... I did witness some of the drama, but most of it (this instance as well) I did not witness.
And for the most part I'm glad, but sometimes I'm curious. Like in this case.

@Jonnyforgotten I guess the algo doesn't work well for you. I downvoted the hell out of the memes so they wouldn't show in my feed anymore

@gitlab actually, I don't use the algo, I have it set to show latest which probably explains it...
