Have an iPhone 7 plus, don't miss the jack at all. I like having 1 port that can do multiple things at the same time

... but I am happy to finally see some anti Android / Google stuff on here instead of constant apple bashing ;-)

Ok, the only real problem I see with this is the fact that you can't charge your phone at the same time as listening to music. And those dongles are too expensive for what they are.

@practiseSafeHex it's not anti Android at all. It's anti nay-sayers regarding the replacement of the analog jack with the digital usb-c

@Mayhem93 "you can't" is wrong, you can. I completely agree that they are expensive, and thats a barrier. But that will change, new tech is always expensive at the start.

The benefit now, is that there are more options available. I have a HDMI adapter that has a charger built in. In work I leave it and the charger attached to the TV in the meeting room, its really handy to have it all coming in off the same cable rather than routing around looking for a plug socket in the right spot

I was angry at Google, but I have to admit that their buds are cool as fuck, and they instantly made me forget about the headphone jack.

@practiseSafeHex But it looks ugly af ! :/

@Prk123 to have 1 connection into the phone? massively disagree on that one. I used to hate having to try pick out holders and stands to devices (for development) having to keep in mind all of the different port placements.

I massively prefer having everything going into 1 adapter and 1 connection into the phone, much cleaner and more organised

@practiseSafeHex There were just 2 ports before .. 1 for jack and one for Charging / otg ... Is that really not simple enough? I really don't get how u can be okay with One big dock hanging by ur phone rather than just having a small hole (port) in it ! 😅

@Prk123 so the problem with the 2 was that depending on what stands, mounts, desk docks etc, one or more of the ports might be covered, especially with generic mounts trying to cover lots of models and makes.

With only one port its much easier to find generic mounts that don't cover anything.

I'm not aware of what kind of adapters or docks you use, but i've used a few that have a cable that is as thin as the charging cable (the whole point of the new standards) connected to a very small block with 2 or 3 ports on it. Its much nicer to have that block hidden away and have 1 single cable attached to your phone, rather than having multiple going across the desk, connecting to different ports.

Over having 1 cable coming out of the back of a tv into a phone when demoing, rather than a HDMI and a power lead going to different places entirely

@practiseSafeHex I was actually talking about Apple's new Dock which have a Headphone jack and a charging cable both built in !

@Artemix if you permanently keep the dongle connected to your headphones, it's like it's not even there

Personally, m fine with this new trend... as long as every gadget I use supports it and it is stable...
I don’t have any wireless headsets or ear buds right now, but I don’t see a problem in using or converting to them as long as the above requirement is met. ☺️☺️

Hate me all u want.... no please don’t 😅

@Artemix well I'm not affected by that. I only use my headphones with my phone. I got work headphones and at home I don't use any headphones (even though own a pair at home)
