It winds me up when jquery is referred to like its a language rather than a framework

Like when you ask them: what languages do you know?
"Well, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery [...]".
My gosh.

I just append "mdn" to the end of all web related searches. Gets w3 schools out of the top

@bluescreen in a way, it is a language. Citing stroustrup, "library design is language design"; and people can successfully use jquery even if they can't program FizzBuzz.

@elazar but it's not a language, JavaScript is the language jQuery is a framework that makes programming in JavaScript easier it's just at a helper library.

JavaScript is the assembly language of the web, and that's a scary thought ..... 😏
