fucking piece of garbage postman!

WHY THE HELL do you auto-update yourself when i explicitly DISABLED updates?

why the hell is it just a "minor" update to switch to a version that FORCES you to have an account, even if all you do is use offline features?

and why is there no option to disable syncing your data to their server, even if it's not needed at all? YALL EVER HEARD OF A THING CALLED PRIVACY?

and why the fucking fuck of all fucked fucks DO YOU DELETE MY PREVIOUS OFFLINE DATA SO I CAN'T EVEN CONTINUE WORKING BY INSTALLING AN OLDER VERSION?!?

some dumb-piece-of-garbage-waste-of-oxygen managers decision to screw their userbase cost me several HOURS(!) of work already and probably will cost some more due to the lost collections.

    Insomnia is a nice alternative

Really sucks that disabling the auto update did not work, I tried the same to prevent the forced account.

Atleast I was able to "recover" the Collections via Settings -> Data -> Export, which gave me a JSON file containing all my collections, requests etc. I would be not surprised if some competitor will add a feature to their product to import that file format soon

@chonky-quiche tbh, i don't like insomnia at all. i tried it once, but based on usability, postman just was king.

Postman has jumped the creeping featuritis shark long ago. Fuck you postman.

One day I heard the fans turning on full blast on my laptop. Checked Task manager: it was Postman. Postman was the culprit. I don't remember even using it that day. I was also using it without an account and only for local requests.

non-consensual updates are probably one of the worst feature changes to tech in the last five or so years.

    Do you want this?

    No?

Well too bad, fuck you! You're getting it anyway!

I know your pain. Auto-updates are a constant threat that could break functionality.

Nobody forced you to use it you dumb bitch. Maybe check how a specific piece of software works before using it next time.
