I've been planning to migrate an good 'ol dinosaur cakephp 1.3 to version 2 then to 3. What ways to handle cakephp 1.3 on git and how?

Create a repo for the project and push the existing to there ? :p

You might want to go through everything to ensure no sensitive data or hard coded credentials are present.

A private and/or self hosted repo might be worthwhile tho.

Thanks @lotd. Another one.. is it advisable to handle git repo only a app directory of cake? Like you've said before, i want to keep it as private to all contributors. Sorry for any confusions
