Is it normal, that certain cores on linux stay on 100% load whilst the others do nothing, this all while being idle.

    When you have to ask the internet "Is it normal that <subject>"...

    it probably isn't..

    Probably because of ancient daemons that does not take advantage of multi core systems

    I always use htop command to track those things.. It's seriously awesome.. yum install or apt get it..

    Depends. If it's system load it shouldn't. If it's a single threaded built application you can't change it

    A VS Code plugin pinned one of my cores at 100%. No idea why. It did do anything.
