Why the FUCK do people keep turning up the brightness on the monitors? Every single time I'm in programming class, some complete fucking idiot set the brightness blindingly high! I want to keep my eyes for a while, anything other than 0 just makes my eyes hurt on this monitor!

Yeah, anything below 50% and I'd be yelling at you to stop leaving it at 0. Goes both ways buddy!

@jhh2450 It's this model of a monitor. My own monitor(s) is/are too dark at 0 (except at night!) but the school's monitors are WAY too bright. So bright in fact, I wonder why people even turn them up at all.

(I have two monitors and their backlight behaves the same way)

@filthyranter Maybe you should look into some Gunnar's? They're made to protect your eyes. I'm going to ask my optometrist to see if there's something similar for my prescription glasses.

@jhh2450 Next year, we're going to use laptops anyway. I'll get one with a properly adjustable backlit display.

@rc5-asdf I had a prescription set of Gunnars... Loved them! I chose a bad frame for my head size and they ended up breaking 3 different times. I'll get another set in a few months but going for one of the metal frames rather than the plastic ones.

I did get a lot of grief for them, but the strain relief on my eyes was worth it... SO worth it.
