And now the bloody client that can't pay me is asking me to remove the search feature I spent days implementing as she'd asked me to not a week ago. She doesn't seem to realise I develop for money, I don't develop for good will and positive vibes.

@shittywebdev Yeah I will no doubt, it's on People Per Hour so I want a good review from her...

Not shure I follow - you are worried about getting good reviews from a client who cant't pay? Not the client being worried?

Contracts people. The bureaucracy is worth it. Also, 50% in advance

@Elkstorm my worry is this is my first client from People Per Hour and I want a good review from her, so I think I've got this belief that if I'm a bit more lax and let her pay in her own pace I'll get a better review from her and in turn more likely to get more jobs.

@mito to my absolute dismay, I only found out all this from asking on devRant after I'd completed the project. Luckily PPH takes 25% (I think) and puts it in escrow at the start of the project, it's just the rest of it I want now I've done the work!

@magis Then I get it. But what I learnt is that it doesn't pay to be nice if people don't understand that you are :) Nowdays I'm much more "I'll build what you asked me to and then when you have paid me I'll be more than happy to do a follow up project"
