Well...at least my headings aren't wrapped in <h1> tags...

You need a better text editor :P And HTML isn’t meant for taking notes lel. Markdown does a much better job at that.

And speaking of markdown, there’s orgmode in emacs (not that I use emacs) which is brilliant and made for note-taking.

PS: There is a package for org files in Sublime.

PSS: I take my notes in LaTeX in class.

I have heard a lot of good things about LaTex! Maybe I should give it a try sometime :)
