I was having some trouble accelerating the delivery of a new feature and so my team leader joined me for some pair programming (awesome!). Five minutes later I was selecting some, text while explaining some problems, and he stops me.

Team leader: you know, you can select all that text by double clicking it;
Me: ok (continuing to explain)
Team leader: you have to be faster with that;
Me: That's not the point right now;

Why do people focus so much on these little things?! I really like pair programming, or just pairing to think about a problem, but this kind of things really get under my skin...

(Silver lining: Cool team leader that didn't snap after I told him to focus 😅)

    I am the team lead. My teammates: go to google.com in chrome to google something; do not try to rewrite or understand what they copy from SO; leave SQL statements as one long line; do not practice consistent naming conventions(git, methods, folders, etc.); use the edit toolbar to press the save button.

    The list goes on, you're doing everything wrong, be happy he is trying to make your life easier. How long does it take you to double click? Could you have selected the item by double clicking it faster than bactalking your team lead?

    @gorsamp I'm sorry that you have to deal with that, but what you described isn't not even close to a description of me or my fellow less experienced team mates. Also, I think you've misinterpreted my rant. I was ranting about the focus on a detail that wasn't crucial at that point. And if you've to know, yes I didn't double clicked at the time because I was more concentrated into explain my problem. And I really like my team leader and appreciate all his constructive criticism.
