$5.625/hour.

Thats the offer.

$5.625/hour.

Thats $900/month.

To work as a:
- devops engineer

Then also as a:
- backend java engineer

And now also as a:
- .NET engineer too

Due to inflation the food and all the bills and expenses in my bullshit country is $800-900/month and increasing.

This salary is not for living.

This salary is for survival.

Do you think

It is

MORAL

To earn salary

Working 2 or 3 dev jobs as 1 person

As a backend/devops software engineer

With computer science degree

In todays economy

In todays inflation

?

you did a whole days work slaving away for free as example test.... did you expect anything else?

do you complain that you burn your hand when you grab a glowing piece of metal, too?

i hope you at least told them to go fuck themselves with a chainsaw.

@ostream @rsharma9234 @tosensei after 5+ calls and negotiation i accepted for $1000/month but under conditions that i work mostly from home remote

They accepted 1k/month ($6.25/hour) but under the condition that in the first month i have to go to office so i can get familiar with the project and their team and infrastructure. And then after 1 month i can work from home remotely But i have to go to the office once a week. Fine. I'll accept that. As long as 2/3 of shits are in my favor i can tolerate 1/3 of shits that are not.

So there we go i might soon actually finally get a job for real this time. I just need to have a final technical interview with their clients and they are the ones who will decide to hire me or not

@ostream very ironically, first time earning 4 figures (usd) a month by working a matrix job, while before in 2020 and 2021 i worked for 3-4k a month usd for clients for my own business...

    @tosensei

Nobody respects u in my country if u have a degree

Nobody respects u in my country if u have the knowledge

Nobody respects u in my country if u know how to get the job done

Everyone respect u only if u have already worked before in any tech company

So i have to work in these shitty matrix companies for matrix wage. Its the only way to get these idiots respect me and hire me

@b2plane seems like a country i'd try to get out of ASAP

@tosensei 1000$ is 6 figures in my currency.

    In economy schools they said

If you earn $1200/month in serbia you are in TOP 3% of highest earners

If you earn $2500/month in serbia you are in TOP 1% of highest earners

This must mean that i am now in TOP what 10% of highest earners in my country?

    A 10,000$ usd a year, is top 10%

    Imagine that

How much years experience do you have?

@b2plane what happened to your business you did in 2020/21?
  • 0
You know what, that salary is even lower than a McDonald's salary.
  • 1
    @asgs which one?

I still have my own "business"

    Man its complicated

Running my software outsourcing business is hell

    Because im all alone

Dont have a partner anymore (we departed from april 2022 after working for 5 years together)

Now i have a different strategy

    A plan

    Something crazy

Some would call it mission impossible

The saas that im developing has a high probability of success because of its nature

    If this succeeds

    My business succeeds

    I succeed

Because I'll put the project as if it was developed by my business and not by me

That way more people would say "wow look at this very successful multi million dollar famous SAAS, and it was created by business XYZ, so that must mean business XYZ knows their shit and makes huge success, I'll contact business XYZ so they can develop a software for me and i make millions too!"

Little do they know its all an illusion

The project succeeded mostly out of sheer luck and randomness

    Statistical probability

    But also my hard work

@QuanNguyen thats what i said. Mcdonalds employees earn $17/hr. I earn $6.25/hr as a backend and devops engineer with computer science degree
  • 1
    Then work for McDonalds instead
  • 0
@b2plane I hope you will soon find a replacement job. I don't know where you can find a job like you mentioned above with a salary that in my opinion is not enough to live for a month.
  • 0
@QuanNguyen i have to have employment experience because thats the only way for these retards to want to hire me.

    In serbia
    - you are not respected if you have a degree
    - you are not respected if you have the skills they require
    - you are not respected if you have the knowledge
    - you are not respected if you know how to get the job done

    In serbia
    - you are only respected if you have already worked somewhere before and this is the ONLY way to get hired for a job
  • 1
@b2plane I am sorry to say this, man, but you will have to pursue the job opportunity you currently have. Since you said that Serbia doesn't provide a job to someone who has some talent but no prior experience, you will have to take some job for now and deal with it

This is the same suggestion I had in one of your other rants. That's the only way out for you for now. All the best! Be strong

    Which shithole is this in?

@b2plane ah right that tracks but it sounds atrocious even for there
  • 1
@TheBeardedOne it is. The bills + food + rent is 800-900$ a month of expenses. At minimum, sometimes its more. Thats because of inflation. So this salary is minimal. Its for survival
