I don't understand women sometimes.

Context: So, How government jobs work in India, is that you have to move to a new job posting location every 3-4 years. Not forever though, more like the first 20 years or something.

It can be a city or a village. And you can't say no against moving there. You'd have to quit the job which in India, is a MASSIVE deal.

My cousin sister had her job posting in Jaipur where she lived with her kid and husband. And soon enough, the news came that her new job posting is in Bangalore, which is about 2500 KMs away from Jaipur.

2 months ago, she and my aunt made a full-on hoopla in front of us saying things like - She'll quit her job. I don't care what it is, but family is always first priority blah blah blah...

Fast forward to today, she's living alone in Bangalore.

I honestly don't understand why this stupid "law" exists that requires you to move to locations. Needless cause of suffering.

She, your cousin, just chose a job that sustains her Family. Cant blame her for that.

TL;DR: India has stupid laws.

@NeatNerdPrime It is what it is. But that's not the point I'm making. Either quit the job or don't. But don't make a scene about how you will quit the job with 10 other life lessons and then do the opposite thing. It looks stupid on their part.

If you were angry about having to move, then rant about that still. I'll give you that.

And no, she's not the one sustaining her family. Her husband is already filthy rich, but that's beside the point.

govt jobs are a "we'll do nothing while we preach and leech off of taxpayer's money", ofc she'd prefer the coushy job over family lol

I mean she's just a human, and when you force a human into a situation that conflicts with their beliefs and stable way of life, it's going to cause stress emotionally. As a human you have to go through the whole ordeal of rationalizing it first. While it's not pretty and "makes her look stupid", It's also completely expected if it never was her dream to move to fucking bangalore and be forced to leave her family.

Don't blame the players, blame the game... and the game is rigged to make you sad and docile... so honestly causing a scene is what we should all be doing every time something stupid is done to use by the higher management or government... But alas since these events happen sporadically and not in waves, we tend to cave to peer pressure of all the people that are currently satisfied. In the end, as you said, loosing a job is a "big deal" in india, so not much of a choice. A story as old as humanity itself.

@azuredivay Yeah, genius solution. I'm not sure how we can even deal with all the cartels and goon groups of civilians here in Slovakia where government jobs don't force you to move around.

India should get it's shit together and build a real infrastructure. For one, stop moving young people around, so they can actually get a grip and build something nice. Literally putting undue stress on your most innovating and energetic group. Underpaying them, exploiting them... People should complain a lot more than they do, because I haven't heard a single good post from any of our indian users except for "I'm finally moving away" stuff

@Hazarth I was with you on the first one "Things happen and people may not behave accordingly" it's not something to make a scene about. All I'm saying that they look stupid saying one thing and doing the opposite.

But for the second one, I'm gonna have to tell you to go fuck yourselves. What India should and shouldn't do, isn't something a Slovakian should be concerned about. This moving away thing is only in the banking sector and is a well known thing. So if it is so horrible, they why do hundreds of thousands, if not millions, apply to get a job in it? Because they get status in society, their future is secured. They get government facilities, less interest in loans, job security. Pretty much anything we in IT dream to have.

That's not a "women" thing but a simple fight or flight reaction mate. You could also try supporting her instead of making a fool out of her in a rant and projecting it on all women while it could happen to anyone. It sounds like she didn't really want to go but caved under social pressure.
But no, it's not really smart to take on a job where you know for 100% that it will happen someday..

@SidTheITGuy I get where you're coming from. But I think that India being one of the top 20 poorest countries in the world speaks volumes about it not working out much. The old guard should probably be replaced. Though I can't claim I'm familiar with the intricate functioning of India. I mostly just know that it treats its employees like shit and that it has the largest population of scammers because money and good employment is scarce. The rest is just my intuition :D
