Folks,
My current employer is service based. Its a good work culture and everything, But..

They are not evaluating their employees skills and stuff. They assign roles of employee on the basis of their business needs, which is fine at certain extend.

But this ultimately causing some employees (including me) to Not have the role we have expertise in.

What to do in such situation? Switching is the only way?

    I’m in a similar situation.
I’m a senior dev, but at $work that means I’m given almost nothing but bugfix tickets. I fix my coworker’s fuckups, and hardly get to write any code anymore. It’s awful.

I also have ADHD, meaning boring tasks are nearly impossible to focus on. I’d estimate 95% of my job is research and code archaeology, 1% coding, and 4% specs. It’s hell.

I’ve tried talking to management to no avail.

@Root oh god ADHD and boring tasks. I got assigned to one of those and literally did nothing for 3 months. In a somewhat irony, nobody noticed I did nothing for 3 months and at the end of the 3 months the manager started raving about me. I then quit because I was suicidal by that point and wtf
