@purist don't give up your dream yet.
Once it happened something similar to me: 3 attempts, 3 rejections. On the forth attempt (which I wasn't pursuing, tbh), however, I got the job... -

(Because I found this thread very interesting) -
@LOLjustCoding @JohnnyBvo - well, according to the source (https://pythonforbiologists.com/29-...) the following links have the PDF and the image in a better resolution

@Stuxnet I like that full keyboard that you suggested... Thanks!

For mobile traffic I use AdGuard (mainly because the adblocking features).
For my home traffic I'm using DNSCrypt (with no log/no filter/DNSSEC options enabled) with Quad9 as a fallback option. -
Hey, welcome to this community!
As others have pointed out, most people here is very cool, which is a huge plus :) -

@Wisecrack I would add another one (although I'm not quiiiiiiite sure about the label that I'm going to use - I accept suggestions):
- Inferiority complex
Why I would add this one, and why I have doubts about using it?
Well, as far as I know although the company isn't a small one (it's a multinational, but not one of the big ones) besides some specific and particular things, it seems that there's nothing standardized. Each branch does things differently.
Anyway, so, under that framework, until 'recently' the IT department always have being dependent not another "More Important Department", and also IT was considered something "not essential to the company", so, practically, it was an unspoken rule that IT existed only to serve the wishes of the "MID" and they couldn't say "no" at will. Never.
So, I'm guessing that this mindset is very engraved into the (now) managers, and despite being more independent, they still do things as before. -
This somehow remind me of both Futurama and Psycho Pass
Futurama for the severed heads that are keep on their containers, this on the Head Museum
Psycho Pass because there's a place where there are stored a lot of brains that aren't quite "dead" as they're connected to a kind of system. They just doesn't have a body anymore and are inside a container (like the heads of Futurama) -
Awesome :D!
-
Hey! Good luck with your first day!
:P don't forget to tell us how it was! -
@cst1992 @Stuxnet lets make it three
I a certain way, these rants remind me to some rants that an old family friend had when he was in the army... They were fun as hell LOL
(As a sample: at one time, when doing some stuff in the middle of nowhere, he was chased for a couple of angry goats because some kind of misunderstanding (go figure) and all of his companions were laughing and didn't helped him at all) -
Sorprendente!
-
@raulqf not necessarily as it could be that the mug was fabricated somewhere where "andaba" is used instead of "estaba" (in that context)...
Actually, I never had read/hear that phrase with "estaba" before reading your comment 😅 -
@AleCx04 correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I have read and understand, she also developed the algorithm behind the achievement, right?
I mean, if I'm not mistaken, then it also means that besides the misinformation that has been spreading (you know, as the image of OP), the people aren't taking into account that designing an algorithm is something different to actually writing it into code, right?
I was wondering about this because I couldn't finish to understand why some "trolls" (I'm trying to be polite) are/were focusing on her collaborations on a Github repository, highlighting the LoC that she wrote there, instead of taking into account the general effort... -
@IntrusionCM woah, thanks!
I'll take a look in those resources :) -
@IntrusionCM by any chance do you have some resource/reference about that?
I got curious about your explanation and I would like to read more about it -
@b3b3 a little bit late...
This is the article that I mentioned yesterday (the drawings made the trick to remember it): https://medium.com/mozilla-tech/...
And, after a re-read, I must admit that I was (somewhat) wrong, because it seems (as far as the article let us know) that there are/were by default only 4 processes, but I've read on GHacks that it's possible to change that value so it may still a chance that redeem myself haha -
@gsharm5u @tisButABug @madoc @robocroque @Batburger @Bram2003 @agentwolf44 @VikiMaster2 @AhmedZak
I like the wallpapers that all of you are using, so, would you mind to share the source of these images (or the image itself if a source isn't available)?
Thanks in advance -
I like it dark, simple, and clean
Edit: indeed, the quality of the uploaded image is worst that I imagined... -
@b3b3 AFAIK (and I read somewhere), Firefox uses independent process to handle the tabs (not sure about extensions) but they do something like a mixed approach (as I barely remember the example that I read in the "somewhere" mentioned before):
Let's assume that we have 4 tabs open, so FF allocates each tab in a process, and, when we open a 5th tab, it will be allocated on Process0; and if we open a 6th, it goes to Process1, and so on... I can't remember right now on which moment FF will instantiate a 5th process, and the 6th, etc...
As I mentioned before, I read about it "somewhere" a while ago, but, I'll do a quick search through my bookmarks/Pocket account to see if I can locate that article -
ಠ_ಠ ?
-
@BambuSource and don't forget that...
-
@Hammster @Hedgepig as someone who is considering get into web development, I'm a little concerned about which could be the stuff (framework, practices, mindset) that it's better to avoid?
-
@vkubre wait... What!?
-
Don't forget about "Sad" at the end 😂
-
@deusprogrammer any chance to see some of those exceptions :P ?
-
😂 LMAO...
-
@filthyranter yup, that's correct
