I believe you have every right to enjoy a stressball after this convo.
It is also nice to see that someone cares for you and tries to explain things even if it is a total fail.
Hopefully you wont turn in to a dull machine after long years and still have fun from what you do and share it with others.

I guess you need to provide a presentation of what you have done when asking/hoping for a job. You can think about the answer of a pretty obvious question, "Why would anyone pay you?". This also gives a lead for what to learn.

I would ask for 501€ and be very clear about it. 501€ is what I would ask. If he doesn't under stand it's 501€. That's why I ask for 501€.

It is sounds like a good way to slap the facts on unreasonable people's faces. Using the idea of going home was brilliant as it lights a bulb on most people. It is also very logical act to declare the terms that effects both sides at the end of the day.
