@hidingFromBoss that's terrifying, commits are like Ctrl+s to me
-
There's theoretically an infinite market for an infinite number of Todo apps because everyone thinks of task management differently
-
@trogus 👌
-
@teganburns "woosh"
-
@sharktits I can look into it, any idea where to grab one?
-
JFC can we collectively stop doing the whole hiring people with senior level experience while expecting to pay them like interns thing? Super not looking forward to having to deal with that 😣

Steam's UI hasn't changed much, it's been okay but also has a TON of room for improvement that hasn't happened ever and probably won't because they have no obligation nor pressure to change due to a pseduo-Monopoly on PC game sales. Shit like this happens EVERYWHERE, not to mention the lag that's omnipresent in big picture mode and the fact steam controllers are godawful to use on the software side because of it (even though I really like the hardware)
Valve has no reason to change and it's kind of disappointing. -
@KennyTheBard literally Overwatch

I mean, technically there was that one bit that came out about how HL3's plot theoretically would've gone before they canned it a while ago, but uh, Valve's too busy making money to make games 🤷
-
I mean, I'd rather have friends that know what I'm talking about when I make fun of JavaScript rather than not
-
Yeah I don't really get the whole Alexa/Google home assistant things, let's *not* bug my house any more than it already is via phones thanks :/

@Alice 👏👏👏

🦆

@AlgoRythm That's a fair concern.
My favorite sort of open source is when companies have community editions of software in addition to paid professional tiers along the lines of JetBrains. It helps them stay sustainable through their professional paying userbase, but also has the benefits of being open source in part, like letting poor students like me use their software for free 😂 -
😂
-
Woah, thanks!
-
I'm kind of afraid of doing this sort of thing to other people, but I feel like I don't know very many overarching patterns to conform to to begin with. Are there any resources for high level architecture patterns in order to prevent situations like this from happening?
-
Same except strength, when can I respec?
-
I feel like it's missing some mood lighting, maybe get them a candle and a bottle of wine?
-
@demortes please no
-
Truuue, I don't know how architecture works
-
Actually it kind of reminds me of Monument Valley

+1 on OpenGL. Alternatively, there's using Java Swing because of a class and suffering through it anyway.
-
@jakobev Thanks! I got that one (actually most of them) at GHC17 last October.
-
Depends on the context. If I'm surrounded by a bunch of strange people in a strange place doing unfamiliar activities, it can be pretty rough. But generally as soon as I have somthing or someone to anchor around, it's easier to be more confident in the situation.
-
This is why we have IDEs, I'm not wasting my time indenting things manually when we have tools that can do it all in a button press thanks!
-
Neat! Are there any strongly reccomended resources for things like decent documentation? I'm still in school and do what I can, but I feel like it's not a thing that's been talked about extensively and I'm not 100% what the best things to emulate are right now.
