@AleCx04 it's public not private, check your ego
-
@AleCx04 why are you getting so heated? chill.
-
@AleCx04 no, first off I referenced /r/thanksimcured because if anyone reads your post they need to be reminded to pay no heed to such toxic attitude.
Second, it grinds my gears when people talk about things they have no clue about like they knew jack shit. Even in medical fields depression is still under heavy scrutiny, yet you HAPPENED to stumble on the answer to the age old question that has been slipping under our radar.
Third, not only do you stereotype austim, you basically toss it like an insult.
Fourth, the reason why someone might have poor social skills might be, surprise surprise, because they have asperger, depression, trauma or other underlying issue, and you belittling their issues does the opposite of helping.
Fifth, depression isn't always developed, it's really common for it to be chronic.
Sixth, social anxiety/awkwardness =/= too good for everyone else. If anything that mindset is commonly developed as a defence mechanism for that issue.
I hope that those you target do overcome their issues, but I doubt you'll have any credit in that. -
Have you heard of our Lord and Saviour, /r/ProgrammerHumor/?
-
@AleCx04 TIL Intelligence = knowledge/experience. who would have thought...
-
@AleCx04 Nope, read it fine if you will. Didn't know you double Majored in CompSci AND Psychology, you do you!
-
Wow, im cured thanks!

UX can be simple from two angles; for new users and for old users. Personally as a new users I'd agree with you, but after using it a bit I feel like they were aiming to maximise usability for old users. It has it's flaws that bother me, case in point I tend to favour YouTube for music on Wi-Fi, but UX is pretty decent imo.
-
😂
you must be proud of that one -
idk unless it's different where you're from, people usually do this to share a funny. especially with smiling faces, that usually translates to "this picture I found is so funny" :/
-
In php I prefer double quotes because I'm too lazy to escape strings to concat variables. Bonus: I feel it makes the code more readable (or as readable as my codes get)
-
@ElToastGrande only mark 1, but maybe it's good as is? In the end I'm only interested in the lang processing to work off of
-
@ElToastGrande it's currently only on kickstarter, sigh...
-
@FMashiro yep. Figured it out the next day, we found out there are 72 cascades across the database from when the company got the bespoke web and db, miracle no one tripped it prior since they're pretty lenient with the use of DELETE-INSERT.
Bonus: our entire server was down the past two days and no one knows why. House of cards my friend... -
@BlueNutterfly maybe you need better environment? I don't know, I can only speak from my perspective since I grew in fairly toxic env. and internet was my only saving grace.
Just removing yourself from toxic environment can do wonders to your mind.
You could also go speak with a pro. Even pros are prompted to seek other pros help since self-analysis can be dubious at times. If someone could assess your condition then they could advise you on best course of action and even offer support. Domestic violence is not ok in any quantity. 🙁
Your experience will do wonders on developing your character, but allow a professional to help you cultivate a healthy, growing environment. You deserve better 🙂 -
@lotd I'm still a freshy 🤕
-
@lithiex
-
@lithiex idk how i messed it up...
-
@balte thanks 😅
-
In my defence, in the meantime I've fixed dozen different issues, I'm still learning and it was using vba of all things, which I had to learn from ground up.
-
For comfort of use it ought to be f.lux. I would not be surprised if my cornea built a hidden altar to the merciful god, saved me from so many headaches... literally
Browser wise ublock origin. Afaik it is the only reliable adblock out there. Used to be adblock+ until they sold out themselves.
Hardware? External hard drive. I've plenty of programs I keep due to being situational, from Adobe audition to atlas.ti (<3). It's an invaluable resource for storage, backups and working remotely. -
Truth. The only way management can profit is if the ones below them don't get paid how much they profit the company.
Ofc it's not to say mngmt is useless, but if they live like kings while their subs barely get through, then someone's being an exploitive fucktit. And it ain't the subs. -
@runfrodorun ah, sorry. Just wanted to clear up confusion as to why i would remember that moment so vividly for the past 6 years.
That said I did find the tidbit fascinating. -
That was pure gold 😂
-
@runfrodorun TIL. But the argument stemmed from a discussion regarding frostbite when BF3 was about to be released.
-
I actually may have refined his answer and made it sound more intelligent than it actually was.
He was feverishly arguing his point; it was ridiculous! -
@jhh2450 I was thinking that it'd not be personal enough for weekly rant subject. But that one might fall under wk25.
-
@Michelle and that's purpose and long term benefit. If you really feel the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, all the power to you. In the end I am in similar position where I had several mental break downs because of how difficult it is for me to cope with that company, yet I return simply because I get the chance to get involved in their projects.
I'll admit it's nowhere near as bad as your situation, but in the end you're your own queen. Your decision on what's best for you is what matters. -
@Michelle @AndSoWeCode I disagree on the basis that you shouldn't force yourself to do more than you're getting paid. If you want to be generous, sure, but I highly advise you do not take excurbant amount of tedious workload for the sake of it or you will burn it, at least do it with purpose and foresight that it will be beneficial in the long run or it was taken into consideration during the agreement.
An added bonus is that it acts like a silent protest.
Source: working for a company where some employees are expected to work well over 50% of their contracted hours and are driving themselves insane for the promise of better tomorrow. I listen to them vent far too often.
