Additionally, to prove to yourself that your tests cover as many cases as possible you can use mathematical induction . Take an object n, prove that n=k, then prove that n+1=k. Then there would be stress testing i guess, of which the implementation depe ds on your architecture. Postman offers something real nice for that, whwre you can let 10,100,1000 emulated users run a train on your endpoints concurrently

Anything apart from integration should be tested with so called “mocks”. Classes which mimick behaviour of the real dependency. I’d be surprised if your language doesnt have a package which does exactly that. One thing my father, a herald of the golden age of software engineering,said was that databases are actually third party dependencies, which the vendor is responsible to test by themselves. What matters is whether what you wrote gets out in the expected format, and whether your application can deal with data returned from the database in the right format, and the wrong format. This gave me buddha level enlightenment

@retoor tbf tho ChatGPT itself seemed to output better stuff the last few days. That or my proomps became better, cant tell
-
@BordedDev 3 a day? Why ?
-
Yea some AI stuff is such a joke
-
My incompetent manager from last job said we’re agile because we do a daily standup now. Bro was that nerve wracking
-
Goddamnit i thought you responded to me sorry mate hahaha
-
@12bitfloat ¿que hablai conche tu madre?
-
@antigermgerm Some are very racist towards immigrants. And Germans too, they believe we are coming to switzerland to take their money hahaha
-
@jestdotty surely Reddit has nice people as well, i didnt want to generalize. A few very negative experiences do stick for longer than many positive ones though.
-
@SidTheITGuy hahaha okay that was a good one, cheers
-
Ah and i just dint get the design decision behind the Depends( class) in FastAPI. And especially why I can only use INSTANCES of Callable classes, which are basically stateful functions
-
@Lensflare well .NET has quite a rich ecosystem around DI. The problem i had is that nothing seemed to work smoothly with FastAPIs DI system. The closest thing was dependency-injector, but the semantics behind providers and dependencies was way too confusing. And FastAPIs DI system is pretty wonky for classes, nothing felt like the beauty of how its implemented in C# or Angular.
-
@retoor Yea Reddit kinda shot their own knee there. After remembering how grateful i felt for people answering my questions so thoroughly i wanted to give back at least something to a rookie in Python. Usually I scrape it off but sometimes once or twice already i got responses on there which did hurt more than expected. Especially since the toxicity came literally out of nowhere.

@antigermgerm its a reference to an old advertisement of a beer in germany. Did the women not have a french accent there?
-
@galena uu die bier, die sie so schön prickelt in meine bauchnabel
-
Guy asked for advice on how to implement something. I give him advice. Another person flips me off saying “he didnt want to read a novel”
Wtf?? -
I used to hate french, soon realized the reason being that every single french teacher was on the same crazy but not hot level as Harley Quinn. Now it grew on me, it has something
-
Depends on the skill in question.
-
@Demolishun You reminded me of the microservices scam. You want another chair? Uuuu, gotta build a new house for that sir. There should be space on the other side of town, lets go take a look!
-
@TrayKnots Zombies are not only serverless, but BRAINLESS HAHAHAHA
-
@Demolishun I wish I was trying.
-
How amused would your wife be if you printed her one of those Dragon Dildos?
-
@retoor hahahahah gold. How come your dog fucked a pig? Are you into bestiality??
-
@retoor Left Germany for 6 months and felt the weirdness of the language full force. Never expected German to sound either like they'll start a war or someone who got a bratwurst up their a**
-
It's Pycharm. Whether you want to give PyCharms grammar nazi access to infinite information, turns out it just checks whether you write ambigisiously about time (sometime ago, etc.) Apparently Wikipedia hates that
-
all this low-level-stuff felt too hardcore for me back then. Now I feel like giving it a go. Building a proper DI framework is itching on my fingertips right now.
-
@Demolishun Tell that to yourself ;)
I didn't even know these intrusive thoughts came from there -
@donkulator minussy
-
@Elendil uff 128gb 🤤
SHIT WHY AM I Bad with money
