That computer looks ancient! I had one of those until like a decade ago.
-
Ugh please use some spaces. Also, welcome!

@RemyRm
May I suggest swiping it up? That way the headsup disappears but the notification isn't gone so they can still read it when you give them their phone back. -
@illegaldisease
Really? I have 3GB RAM and never noticed anything from clearing recent apps. Android automatically kills them when RAM runs out, and suspends them when not being used anyways. -
@Pogromist
"Uh, pogromist, where is my internet? I can't find it anymore." -
@illegaldisease On Android, recent apps are handled well by the OS and generally the system won't run faster if you clear them. And notifications are even more annoying: I keep them in the tray because I want to handle them later!

@finiteAutomaton You might like Ctrl-R, it allows you to search your bash history (pretty sure it works for most shells).

Zip isn't that hard, you can download it straight from github.

@djsumdog
I thought Void didn't, Ubuntu LTS (idk about 18.04, and I wouldn't go beyond Lubuntu) and Debian do support ppc though (though don't know about stretch). Gentoo could work but compiling a modern Linux on that sounds like a suicide mission. -
What kind of hardware do you have that you get kernel panics? Anyway, vim is fine with a sudden shutdown, it keeps shit in a swap file as it calls it.

@Proximyst
Do Rust and Kotlin use different float types? Or how do they solve it then? -
@Hammster Maybe, but Chrome isn't the only thing that can use RAM, you also need it for other programs, and 'free' RAM is often used for the operating system's disk cache.

How are you people so bad at plugging in USBs, I always look what way is up in the plug first. I always get it correct the first try (unless the port is upside down)
-
To be honest, how should this have been done instead?

@elgringo
Expect some engagement? Sorry, but when paid to engage between 9 and 5 I'll engage between 9 and 5, I'm not working for free and I'm not working in my own time. -
Actually, every time I tried Edge it's been slow as molasses, while Firefox, Chrome and I think even IE11 are noticeably faster

Probably unpaid internships/jobs where you get paid with 'exposure' aka fucking nothing.

@dcode
How is spacefaring the greater good of humanity? It seems like a frivolity to me.
