@IntrusionCM I like your thinking with that quote lol! Sadly the problem is that I am leaving my post and handing over to someone with very little experience and one other person with some experience, but not as much as is needed. So I am trying my best to document everything and demo every problem that arises so they won't be completely lost when I go. You are right in saying it is managements problem though lol

@N00bPancakes Totally agree... just wish there was a better way 😊
-
@YADU I agree, I feel this way due the lecturer I had teaching me saying that every line of code needs commented. Every part of a function needs explained and every class needs commented out including a version number etc. It was a pretty self explanitory piece of code, so I wanted to ask if excessive commenting is expected in the workplace.

@zvyn Yip, sat next to me and asked... but considering there are staff (non-IT) that don't know where the start menu is on windows, or get lost if the outlook shortcut isn't on the ribbon... it's just overall not great 😂

It's a good thing you found out before implementing it, otherwise you'd have the writer being like "I'm dying!" in the corner whilst the readers be like

Post-gres, or Post-gres-sequal if I have to say the full name 😂
-
I love this 😁😁
-
@mundo03 I didn't either when he said it... sadly. Especially considering he's experienced 😂

@AtuM Not even, it's a manager who set the tasks as high priority and the other team member asked me to to theirs as well because they simply did not want to try and work out how. However, the manager in question, doesn't set my workload. Another one does. This one plays a middle man role.

... Just... How? 🙈

I am happy that the diagram has prompted a lot of conversation and appreciate the feedback that a lot of you have offered. However, I wasn't posting it for that reason, I simply thought it was amusing as an example seeing as most "real life" examples given in education are "dogs bark, cats meow, but all animals speak".
I was posting to Devrant as it was meant to be fun, rather than to Stack Overflow, yet I have met the same amount of explaining as I would have there 🤦♀️. I wasn't looking to show inheritance, I would use a different illustration for that, encapsulation and polymorphism. It's just a simple, how are object related to classes.
Either way, if anyone can think of a better visual example, why not have some fun with it and post something, if you want to throw inheritance into the mix that's okay too! 😊 -
@k0pernikus I can see your point, however I am a visual learner and as a beginner this was simple my way of understanding the concept of OOP for myself, that I thought would be funny to share 😊 .

@sheriffderek You will be pleased to hear, no 🤣

@electrineer I just watched that whole thing, laughing my head off at how awful that software is 🤣🤣 - not a far cry from ArcMap let me tell you!

@c3r38r170 I wish...

I felt like I was reading the story of my life...
-
@JhonDoe I wish I could say this is part of my job role, but it isn't... that's even more of a reason to hate it 🤣

@CrashOverride

@AlmondSauce Oh he is, it's an ICT Support team, so he really should know these things... I had to explain to him what a database schema was too... again... he is an ICT Professional and I am not. *sigh*

You dont mention here how many words or references the dissertation included though 😂
-
"We can't go on together - with suspicious certificates" - Suspicious Certificates (Minds) 😂😂 - love this rant
