By default it starts at 1 doesn't mean you can't make it starting from 0?
I use lua as an extension language binding with Fortran, both languages have array index starting from 1, I found it quite handy -
Just wait till conspiracy theorists discover they're part of a conspiracy theory to use conspiracy theorists to spread disinformation via conspiracy theories...I should write a nested loop for this
-
Thinkpad firm upgrades can now be done on Linux as well. (see https://fwupd.org/lvfs/devices/ for supported hardware)
-
You'll know more this kind of things if you code in Fortran
-
I just write code on remote server, when the fire alarm goes off, I grab my laptop and find a cafe to continue
-
I shit on a programming language because people around keep telling me how good the language is, yet the shitty project I'm losing hair for was implemented in that language...
-
put 60threads into sleep for 8 mins
-
I personally value more of the algorithms used rather than programming language used for the application. Stream data compression and big data is what secure you the job, python programmers there're plenty, people who study algorithms are rare.

RIP
for important jobs I always add
zip -r name.zip *
at the end of PBS just in case I lack of caffine -
@brano88
Isn't that the point of AI? -
Air planes are on cruise mode most of the time during a flight, if we can get AI to do the take-off and landing bit, then technically we don't need a pilot rather an IT guy sitting in the cockpit lol

@Parzi
just like dir, ls also comes with options, you don't have to read the full manual, just google what you need. -
ls -gh
what simpler command do you use on windows? -
@heyheni
nothing useful were displayed on the two side monitors except eye-hurt stretches, also it pains the neck :( -
maybe the really angry ones were capitalised, try grep -ir ... to ignore cases
-
You're looking at it from a projected space:)

@alkuzad
it's a brain exercise, I'll leave it as a homework for you LOL -
@rEaL-jAy
I've worked on Linux for more than a decade and gained enough expertise when there's a problem I mostly solve it myself instead of blindly copy&paste commands from google and expect it to work, the issues I normally encounter on Linux takes a HPC specialist. Whereas the problems you mentioned above is completely rookie, maybe you need to learn how to filter information on google instead of blindly copy&paste command lines. -
@rEaL-jAy
If you deny without providing a reason then you are a fanboy, and there's no point to continue the post! -
@Hallelouia
Don't trash it, Intel 2nd and 3rd gen chips still perform decent, my i7 2600K still works like a charm. -
@rEaL-jAy
If your hardware ships with Linux then it works right out of the box...same argument goes for windows and macOS. If you need to install Linux on a gaming laptop which has no official support for Linux then it's your problem when compatibility issues exist. -
Chips contain more physical cores consume more energies and generate more heat...choose amd or Intel wisely base on how your applications scale in parallel

@irene
"What is life?" Is the name of the book -
@irene
Erwin Schrödinger wrote a book about it ;) -
@alkuzad
What if it's Fortran 77? -
@Marnsghol
I was about to point it out -
An hr isn't very long for people doing debugging
-
@rEaL-jAy
For what it's developed for which OS doesn't work right out of the box? It's about durability and robustness -
@Stuxnet
Is that the reason why 6-inch phones exist?
