@zemaitis I have one, can confirm. The capacitive touchpad is what gets me.
-
@FinlayDaG33k immortality has definitely a lot of caveats without things like invincibility, eternal youth, etc... But in the end it's the loneliness and fact that you will spend eternity in the void that gets you.
-
Immortality is overrated, imagine surviving the extinction of humans or not be compatible with over-evolved descendants or keep living in the void of space after the solar system is destroyed, living through being sucked by a black all, surviving the end of times alone? Nah I'm good give me a normal life span but healthy and never aging and I'll be good with it.

Also Apache is already installed on MacOs you have to enable it and configure it, for me it's painful because it's not really in my job description but for someone who knows what they're doing it's way better than mamp.
Installing GNU+Linux or BSD on a Apple device is like "I overpaid for this device because they definitely sold their Os to me but I don't want it", why did you buy a Mac?
Also if it's company provided machine you might not have the right to do so. -
This has been bothering me a lot in later versions of MacOs, almost everything has to be manually allowed to install from the security menu.
I know it serves as idiot proofing, but there are so many unsigned Dev tools it's just infuriating. -
It's definitely better than /r/programmerhumor, but all of Reddit? I mean that depends on the content your looking for since all Reddit users don't participate in all of Reddit's content.
In term of community, devrant's probably better than that of most subreddits for sure. -
While we are on the subject of memes, did you donate to wikipedia ?

Took me a second to realize what was on the right =)

@endor ok, it's even worse than what I thought after doctoring their benchmarks* they "lie" on the tdp ?
* apparently they run their hardware on top of the line machines against AMD hardware on mid/shit-tier MoBos. -
@irene they do indeed consume more power if I remember correctly they run at 105Watts where Intel is between 70 and 90 or something like that. They also heat more but stock cooler is apparently pretty good not like Intel ones.
-
And Zen2 has the potential to crush Intel at consumer level if 7nm holds up, price is kept low, and Intel doesn't release a new processor at that same level of engraving which isn't apparently on Intel's board at the moment.
-
@mampf my mother eats brain, she says it's good, I can't remember eating some, I like liver.
-
@mampf frogs and snails are actually quite uncommon in France, most french people don't ever eat them.
I did eat snails once, they were quite good never ate frogs though. -
@AlmondSauce ah, that's right, thank you.
-
@AlmondSauce is it still limited to 5 repos ?
-
That reminds me of my days in Uni, our C code had to compile with an ludicrous set of warning to error setup and of course unused parameters was one of them, the trick -> (void) param;

@markie-tee @bahua I like to have physical/mechanical feedback that I clicked.
And clicking should be an added feature, it shouldn't change the tapping behaviours. -
@Gaveuxifort i will probably recycle it into a computer for my parents and sister TBH
-
i'm currently waiting for Zen2 release so I may trash my I7 3770k
-
@blt909 erf, non clickable touchpad is a deal breaker on my end it's just much more convenient IMO. Also these kind of touchpad feel old and cheap.
I've hope they update their laptops with more recent touchpads I wouldn't mind paying a supplement for it. -
The one thing that kept me from getting one is that the touchpad doesn't seem to be clickable, is it or do you have to use the buttons ?
-
I was sceptical when I heard about it and then I saw the trailer, now I'm just trying not to ooze hype.
-
@Condor I heard from a friend who installs industrial WiFi solutions that optical fibers don't like being bent too much, wouldn't that cause space and tidyness issues ?
-
this is an actual question: How hard would it be to redesign the ethernet head so it becomes smaller ?
We reduced the size of everything else why not ethernet ? -
@Codex404 you are very right but I hoped for better products and that steamOS would have motivated more devs and companies to make Linux compatible games and drivers.
-
I have become more and more indifferent to Valve,
- steam machines ? No fucks given
- stramOs ? no fucks given
- Valve made games ? Too old or overrated IMO
- Steam controller ? Please
- big picture ? Let me laugh
Their vulkan compatible wine fork is dope though I hope they develop it further. -
@bahua these keys are for most of them, if not all of them, combination keys using either Alt, Super, or even fn
-
It now pales in comparison to Sublime/VsCode/Atom.
That interface looks so god damn like the 90s I cannot bear it anymore.
