@C0D4 I'll give it a look when I'm at a computer! :)
-
@Jilano I'll check it out. :)
-
@C0D4 An online website builder was the idea. Keep in mind that this is very lighthearted, we're just trying to figure out how to build the visuals of a website, the downside is that a lot of platforms (unsurprisingly) have companies as their main demographic.
-
@C0D4 I don't have an Rpi, no, I can't afford it. Amd like I said, this is with people who aren't programmers and I myself don't know jack about git quite yet, and this is a very lightweight project. :P
I know there are tons of services that offers hosting and building tools and such, I just figured I'd check with the people who know these things if some might be better than others. :) -
@C0D4 I'm not in a position to do that at this very moment, but I'll get to it later when I have access to my computer. :)
-
@C0D4 That's exactly what I'm doing. :) That's why I assumed as much.
-
@netikras See, I haven't studied these things. XD I've picked up a lot of stuff as I go and as far as I know, if you're copying large amounts of data and want to ensure nothing is lost, it's good to have a dedicated program do the work. And maybe not doing it on Windows.
-
@netikras Like I mentioned above that heavily depends on how good your CPU is, and I wouldn't call mine high-end, really. :P
-
@netikras As far as I know that would require me to have a hell of a lot of RAM.
Edit: And it *definitely* wouldn't take me just an hour to copy-paste over a TB of data. -
@C0D4 @irene I think the disk itself is in an alright condition, but the cable connections can be a bit iffy. Once it's got a connection and as long as you don't touch it it's usually fine. I'd just like to get the stuff off of it before it breaks down so I don't have to pay for one of those data retrieval services. :P
-
@C0D4 I'll certainly try it out at the very least. :) Thanks for all the help!
-
@C0D4 I do have a laptop running Linux Mint but it's not very powerful. Do you think that would affect the process much at all if I did the transfer on that?
I mean, I assume more cores = faster transfer, but yeah. It'd be less work ahead of time than setting up a VM. -
@C0D4 No, this is just an external drive with photos and videos and all kinds of crap on it, no OS installed, just file storage.
-
@irene I don't know that I know the difference actually. :/ All I know is I'd like all the data transferred as losslessly as humanly possible. There are a lot of photos and such from years back on that thing.
-
@ftyross Unfortunately not. :P Our cat is just a weapon of mass destruction.
-
@toriyuno I'll never argue with that cats are smelly, there's a reason that the term "nuclear cat ass" has become a thing at home.
-
@Kage That still means a period of hobo face while it's growing though. :P
-
@Kage I guess we have differing opinions on that subject, then. :P
-
@JohnDoesNot But everything just stands straight out. :( It just won't look not-messy.
-
@Kage What about those natural-laws-defying guys that look like friggin' Thor? It's all black magic, I tell ya.
Or idk, maybe you classify those as hipsters. :P -
@irene I'm unbiased, I find almost all animals cute. :P I've had cats most of my life, currently live with just one.
She woke me up rudely this morning, coming into the bedroom and screaming at me because hubby was in the shower. She's got some sort of issue with us showering. I don't know if she thinks we're drowning ourselves or something. -
@Fell That's exactly what I'm looking for myself. I feel like there's some sort of hidden society protecting the secrets of magnificent beards, hiding them from the rest of the world.
-
@irene They're so damn cute though.
-
@irene Well, I know that they poop, obviously. :P I just had the impression that you'd have bird poop all over the place. Like I said, I've never had birds myself.
-
@toriyuno @irene My guess would be that cats and dogs are considered fairly easy to read because you kind of learn it as you grow up. You know, when happy cats purr and dogs wag their tail, when upset or scared cats hiss while dogs might tuck their tail between their legs and keep their head low.
In the meantime you don't learn too much about how to read birds unless you happen to grow up with them.
Sidenote; As someone who's never owned a bird, don't they poop everywhere? Or do you just kind of gets used to it? (Like getting peed on by rats...) -
Famous last words.
-
@ThermalCube I ended up getting another headset, a pair of Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 450, which I like a lot more. :P Will be returning the other ones.
-
@ThermalCube No rush! Good luck with the exam! :D
-
@Elyz I bought them, they're sitting on my desk currently, but like I said, my problems might very well have to do with my computer as well. Motherboard, OS, missing drivers or whatever, bugs even. Again, audio stuff really isn't my forte. If you have any ideas on things to try I'm all ears! (... No pun intended.)
@ThermalCube I've seen the Revolver ones when looking around, how are they? :o And did you get around to testing with one of those audio clips?
@heyheni Like virtual surround sound, you mean? As far as I know headphones are *technically* always only virtual? :o Either way, I've never heard about that brand before, but since both you and @iAmNaN mentioned studio headphones, I might take a look and see what I can find in that. :)
