@kondanta good suggestion!
I really like their interface, they also seem to have good selection of integrations !
I didn't dive deep into it but I really like what I'm seeing so far -
@Root yah I saw it's demo, though it felt outdated. TBH I'm losing hope with Atlassian, I feel that companies use their products because they suck less than others.
For a confluence replacement I really like Slite but it's not as feature rich as confluence, I think Slite has good potential to grow, I really like their interface and the basic features they have -
... in other words, adjust your code before you go through full browser compatibility manual testing.
I remember I read about a CI service that sends you screenshots of your app on different browsers, though I don't remember what it was called -
If the issue is js compatibility you can create different bundles with different Babel targets in your builder that have different browsers in mind, especially internet explorer.
If the issue is CSS you could try browserStack though I would say that will be time consuming.
I usually use autoPrefexer and I send a modernizer script for older browsers.
The problem with manual testing front end apps is that when you find an issue and fix something, you probably broke something else.
I started having less trouble with cross browsers when I did some research about what usually breaks on other platforms, for example from the top of my head:
- height 100% inheritance on safari
- min-height on IE
- flex on IE
- object-fit on IE
When I was using SCSS I used to write some mixins to target IE and Edge and then I would make global mixins for general things and use the browser mixins inside of them to mitigate popular inconsistencies.
It's been a while since I cared about IE... -
I gave it a chance when it was pretty new, I really liked the side menus, I remember some sites would just hang while they would work without issues on chrome.
I still used it for reading and watching YouTube videos from channels I like (on chrome I always have adblocker enabled so I go to another browser when I visit sites I want to support).
But then I remember we had some flexbox css issue on it and it was litterally not debuggable, when ever I try to inspect that element it would just crash, the only way I was able to inspect that section was by visiting another page while the dev tools were open and then go to that page to inspect it and still it would crash when I try to add some css to that section!
That incident made me so angry I installed Opera unpinned Edge and till now I haven't used it!
Opera is a really under appreciated browser! -
@CowBroRises actually until now we haven't decided on a name yet XD I should consider it
-
UI : bootstrap template with sliders

@Jilano I literally refreshed my inbox when I read that request, I couldn't believe it for the first time.

update: my friend asked for help from his parents, they will sponsor him to study masters in project management for the next 18 months, so he can have enough time to develop his experience and find a better job in the market.
Thanks for all of you who provided advice,
really appreciate it. -
@saintograph thanks, I will
-
I think it's best to see how he feels about web development tomorrow before setting up anything
-
@saintograph I wouldn't mind that actually
-
@saintograph tomorrow I'm bringing him over for our first session to see if he has some potential in this field.
He doesn't have much options as he's running out of time. -
@1989 some recruiters rejected him the moment he said 'gaming'
-
@1989 there's plenty of local project managers in the market, and business owners find it discouraging to hire an expat due to high costing factors.
-
@Midnigh-shcode the English language can be interpreted in many ways, I did not mean that criticizing opinions is a bad thing but many people out there describe JavaScript developers as bad developers.
-
@rim01 you can't generalize like that.
And I think any decent JavaScript developer understands that JavaScript isn't built for that. -
@Midnigh-shcode your Opinion is yours and I don't think anyone should be allowed to attack you for your opinion as long as you're not spreading hate.
Also making jokes about JavaScript is really fun XD.
My problem is the assholes that look down on JavaScript developers and treat them like second class citizens. -
@rim01 creating a banking system in JavaScript is like trying to build a car with rubber.
In my opinion JavaScript is really good for what it's intended to be doing.
As for protecting variables then you can use constants in JavaScript. -
@ChachiKlaus a developer that enjoys what he does, a person that shouldn't take shit from others for his choice of occupation.
-
@LastDigitOfPi oh fuck, a typo! Can't edit the rant now 😅
-
@coder67 atom one dark pro on VScode
-
@Darmark I live in Malaysia, due to taxes beer here is expensive, I was in the EU last month, everything was expensive except for 🍺 !
-
@freakko of course, it gets over clocked just by smelling the shawarma!
