@hjk101 Everything they store. Depending on configurations, may include government ID, room panoramas, signatures, etc.

@sbiewald It *is* spyware, but I went the responsible disclosure route because of the consent dynamic here - if people were wilfully ignorant of the risks (such as with video game "anti cheat" DRM), for just playing shiny new game, that's on them.
But, given that, security issue or not, students are being forced to use such services and not given an alternative, I did what I thought would be best for students. (Which is also why I didn't give advance notice on some other stuff, like the open source libraries I found used in code. Goal was to help students, not do the company's job for them.)
I've been working with student orgs and trying to organise for pushback against these services, but it has been difficult. -
@RememberMe I mean this is true, but wrangling organic and physical chemistry, kinematics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, waves and soon electricity is beyond me right now

That’s not even the correct spelling of gaijin, baka.

@jhh2450 I mean, Pantry delivers groceries for close to nothing here. And not having to leave the house is convenient. Finally, on top of that, at least someone else lifts the ten kilograms of wheat flour to the second floor.
Only kidding on the last one. -
Time to hackintosh! /s
I actually use a hackintosh as my daily driver, but I'm slowly trying to switch back to Arch Linux because cudNN doesn't work on macOS for some reason. -
@magicMirror well,
1. CakeChat's a neural net, not sure async/await would be useful. (https://GitHub.com/lukalabs/...)
2. A lot of this stuff is not something you could lint for, like the integer division / true division change.
3. My aim here is to make the code *also* run on python 3 without breaking compatibility to python 2, sorry if I wasn't so clear with that. 2to3's fixes don't look like they can help much either.
As of right now, PR#10 successfully starts the flask server with the pretrained NN, but training is still broken. -
@bahua VSCode is a general purpose editor. By Microsoft, yes; for Microsoft languages, not necessarily. I use it primarily for python, and the stuff in the official python plugin is useful.

8th grade me wanted a name for my Steam account. Oxygen, because that's what we breathe. Also, Equilibrium because why not. Throw them into a (figurative) word blender, Oxylibrium. Guess it stuck.
-
I actually also have an E1200v2 and started ordering up spare microSDs for that reason. Huh.
-
do they not care about you doing this? because oh boy will I be in a hell of a soup if they caught me doing something like this.
-
Why would you subject yourself to the hell that is Ubuntu LTS? I need my latest versions.
-
@octogato Ah, conio.h. Old enemies we are.
-
But writing just 10 lines of code would be boooring anyway. Gotta have it last longer ;)
-
@heyheni That would work... If our computing syllabus was even a major focus for them, or even one of the bigger problems in this country's education system. Our whole public exams thing makes getting into a good university a cutthroat rat-race (think top 5% level).
Many of us have tried (and failed) to get them to fix this, but quite frankly there's a lot of other more important stuff that needs to be fixed first. I'd explain the situation in detail if you want to, just not sure it'll be on topic with the whole dev thing going on devRant, because I'm new here after all :) -
I wonder how much salt we have to throw in their wounds before they get their shit together and fix the damn thing.
