So I guess this makes me super old as I'm still playing PUBG.
-
@mpie Your logic is flawed. Of course you produce the same amount of code / text / whatever. But you spend only a fraction of the time and effort typing it. Which is only logical when you check the history of our status quo.
-
@irene Meh. I guess we cannot have it all, eh? Since you only share the looks you got all the good parts without the useless parts. IMHO that's a plus. :D
-
@irene You know that pandas are incredibly beautiful creatures right? 😊
-
@scroach Wait. What? This is new stuff? How. Is. This. Even. Possible.
-
Keep on going. I'm also struggling very much right now. You're not in this alone.
-
Also kudos to you for pushing through and solving the issue. We've all been there.
-
And this kids is why WordPress and PHP are evil.
-
@irene Oh yeah. As an added bonus I also have depression. This time medication and sport doesn't help so much ... so. Well. Fuck.
-
I'm a bit older (approaching my 40s now) but since I'm looking more like someone in his 20s - I guess that evens it out. So - while not technically - I might be kinda your age. :P
Anyhoo. I know that feeling too. I'm missing quite a bit of focus (which is shit, as I'm self employed) and I'm severly lacking in architecture. The funny thing is - even though I don't feel that competent here and there, I still consider myself being like some kind of superman whenever I take a look at all the shitty code that I'm refactoring on a daily basis. Not that mine is perfect - but it still alleviates much of the previous problems. Which in the end leaves me with a mild "above average" feeling.
So with all that babbling I just wanted to say - you're probably doing just fine. That's the case for most people who have thoughts like this.
Also - think about what achieving means for yourself. It's not like we have only accomplished anything when we're the next Steve Jobs.
All the best! -
@mpie Not true. If you can save like half of your typing (or more) it is really helpful and not just fancy nerd stuff.
-
A geek girl I know uses a Neo keyboard - kinda like Dvorak but much better for the German language. I'm also thinking about switching some time. I mean - the default layout that we all use is just stupid.
-
@devTea Precisely my thought as well. 😁
-
@devios1 Even though I'm a Windows user I tend to agree with you there.
-
IIS is trash. It's not just you.
-
@athlon Yes indeed. Nice pun btw. 😃
-
@Kaji Jeez. Err. I mean - jizz. (Must be bad pun day.)
-
Somebody tell Activision. Record income and laying off 800 people at the same time. And of course the CEO gets 15 million as a bonus just for showing up.
-
@bahua Performance is not an issue but it's hogging a hell of a lot resources. Combine it with Chrome and you basically fucked your hardware.
-
@irene Age of electron - I couldn't fucking agree more.
-
Meh. A friend of mine sent me this ... she has/had a date today. 😐
-
Not sure if I should be happy for you or not. 😐
-
@CoffeeNcode Wurst Case Scenario! Bwahahaha! Cannot - stop - laughing. 😂
-
I still don't like Lua.
-
@cabbybaby That's really weird. I would guess he has a problem differentiating the work from the non-work hours. Which can happen a lot if you work from home as there are a lot of people who do not really "get" that difference.
-
@Npstr I agree. Whatever this is - it has nothing to do with JavaScript.
-
Run while you can. This is one of the worst stories I heard in years!
-
@irene I'm with you on this one.
-
It sounds like you don't need a framework at all. It surely helps if you have tons of dynamic things and fancy responsiveness - but if you don't need any of this you can just cut out all the fluff. If you do need the functionality though it will save you tons of time.
-
@caap Eclipse is just so fucking annoying. Slow as fuck. Confusing. And it crashes way too often. IntelliJ is just a great choice for every language.
