@hugh-mungus curious why you guys who say you “hate” Windows? Is it really hate or just prefer Linux? If you really hate windows — why? And have you used it recently?
-
@gitpush strange you put Oracle there. In my mind Oracle is far below the rest on that list. Including Oracle would be like including IBM.
-
@WildOrangutan jus@Condor so you upset because this community is going to disappear or something? What is your argument - I don’t see it..
-
@sak96 office is available for linux via office 365. Is the web available on Linux?
-
@eternallyAlone @eternallyAlone they offer free private git repos on visualstudio.com it also comes with few build and release.
-
@trogus but devrant supports a post like “fuck you Microsoft”. Understood - uninstalling the app.
-
I doubting you are old enough to grow a beard.
-
You should look up George Carlin and the “f word”. Also it’s spelled “queue” - the fact you don’t know how to spell it shows me you probably have never used one.
-
Lack of understanding?
-
If your write code blocks big enough that spaces vs tabs makes a difference while debugging you got bigger problems.
-
I always enjoy this language vs that language Java has its place. You should try C# sometime I enjoy C# better, the syntax is cleaner to me. With the new dotnet core being platform independent I see C# gaining some ground on the Java fan boys.

Good luck.

@geronimo probably the most short-sighted thing you could have responded with. As someone who frequently uses both - they both have pros and cons. Understanding when to use which is more important. Sticking to only one is only going to limit yourself and your potential.
-
Also Windows 10 has dev mode that has Ubuntu shell built in.

If it hot out do you wear pants? If you eat cereal do you use a fork? Do you ride a bike on a long road trip? Do you use a screw driver to drive a nail?
Pick the right tool for the job. -
Down voted both rants for begging

Microservices in many sense is Utopian. I would focus on build bigger monolithic applications that you can later micro out. It will help you define domains and discover use cases.
Also - you should do some more reading about using ES as your primary data store. ES is a great tool but not great for a primary store for many reasons (security/data loss).
Good luck. -
@yarwest not sure which one of your comments to up vote so I did both.
-
I hate cats.

I figured

All good developers have some level ADD.
-
How is this a rant?
-
Ken Loggins - "Danger Zone"
Followed by
Justin Bieber - "Sorry"
Followed by
Taylor Swift - "Shake it off" -
I would have up voted you if you took the word "environment" out of your rant.
-
Bro - are you trolling me?
-
You sound like a joy to work with.

But the pastel colors?
