@WolfMoon I've had more issues running Windows desktop for a month than I had running linux for a year.
But at the end my experience doesn't say much about others because the usability of different desktops depends highly on personal workflow and expectations. Windows has many advantages, but linux has at least as many advantages, just in different areas.

But by now it's just muscle memory and takes about exactly the same amount of time. Also most IDEs automatically place/close curly brackets for you.

What annoys me the most is keybinds. For example the (often) default keybind of ctrl+/ to comment something out is literally impossible on a german keyboard. It always ends up being ctrl+shift+7. Not all editors recognize that as being correct.

btw, puberty blockers don't have that much of a negative impact. They delay puberty. That's it. They also aren't mandatory and not many trans kids take them. Basically only if the kid has been showing signs since a very early age and both the parents and a professional agree.

And again, it's NOT being pushed. Kids are often discriminated for it by classmates and even teachers or their parents. If anything, they are pushed to think they're not trans.

Children should not medically transition. They should only be able to do it when old enough to make the choice for themselves.

@AvatarOfKaine Children aren't being confused. People don't try to make them think they're trans when they behave more like the other gender. The message to kids isn't that they should think about that, but more that they can behave like what gender they want and it doesn't matter.

So first of all. Gender and Sex are different things. We have known that for ages. We also both agree that Sex is what you're born as and is hard to change.

Gender is fully neurological. It happens in your mind. Female and Male brains have slight differences and Trans people have brains that match the gender they identify as more than the one they werde born as. That's literal scientific proof why trans women are women.

If you don't believe me that gender happens in the brain and trans brains match what they identify as, imagine your body disappeared. You're a floating brain. What's your gender? There, that's what you identify as. Now no matter what body your brain gets put inside, it will still be that same gender that you identify as.

It's really not that complicated.
Now the final question: Why can't you identify as being taller?

Correct! Your size doesn't have anything to do with your brain. It's your body.

Also not all tech people think like you. A lot of them would have used body type from the start. People aren't doing this because of politics. They are doing it because it's what they want to do. @electrineer It is possible to remove the shorts button, but I think they would still appear on the homepage. Maybe they'll add a patch to remove them fully in the future.

@iiii I mainly chose it because it looks clean and didn't need any configuration. Was just an install, done kind of thing. Performance is not really a concern for me, it doesn't have to be lightweight. I also have enough ram for basically anything.
I could also just go with chromium and get some addons. For now though, I have brave and it works. If I feel like it I might switch in future. There just wasn't a reason to switch yet.

I loved Opera GX back when I used it. But about a year ago I fully switched to linux (arch btw) on all of my devices. Now I use brave as my main browser.

I always use 'elif' instead of 'else if' in every other language because I'm just too used to python.
