Having the same here. Big ball of mud is an understatement.
Funny seeing a confluence page from 5 years ago stating the same issues I am seeing now... Nothing was done 🤡 -
Embrace Java and try to take a shot at Kotlin. Thank me later 😏
-
If I need a quick and dirty solution I would use any js framework with routing capabilities and firebase for everything else, from auth to persistence.
-
Amazing what these guys have achieved. Huge respect.
-
Came to the same conclusion one week ago. Fuck man, so many nested files and folders 😥
-
You can summon Shenron with 2 more balls and ask for eternal life!
-
Very nice! Congrats.
-
It is annoying, yes, but shit, looked at my rant history and found I did write it once. *facepalm*
-
Well, not really.. You can write simple modules yet the full software can be quite complex itself. For the philosophically inclined, the sum is bigger than the parts.
-
Upvote cause I came across many scrumdumbs during my worklife. There is plenty of them right now where I work.
-
Thing is most of the software being run in the world belongs to huge companies that maintain billions of line of legacy code.
-
@Letmecode brilliant shit. How I hate this clickbait, pop-up minefield wagon.
-
@mell0 you feel a texture less slippery than touching the bare mbp aluminium, but it's still prone to slip if you're careless. I really like the texture over the touchpad, makes it less boring without impacting the performance.
-
@BrianValente yep, it worth the price, seems durable.
-
Injection ready I should say
-
@Dacexi it does look more centered!
-
Either way this style is often used when you want to give a retro feeling to the logo (and the brand itself). For instance take the logo of this recent australian rock band. Their main inspiration are classic rock groups such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, that is why I think they went with a logo like that to show public that they sound classic, which indeed they do.

I would personally shift the R to the right as to make the type shape more evenly distributed around the circle. I imagine you have aligned the letter bounding box to the center of the circle, and this is generally ok but you are using a font that has more weight to the left for the R in particular. Maybe it is just my OCD speaking but I think it would look better.
To be honest I don't like this font - I believe it was used widely in the past, so it conveys a vintage message that contradicts the modern background (heavily inspired by Google material design).
If you are happy with it, it is OK! But I suggest you think more carefully about what aspects of your brand (or yourself) you want people to grasp by looking your logo, and design around it. Good luck!! -
Corporate software?
-
As does 99% of the "IT courses" targeted towards business people out there. Guy gets a certificate in "cloud computing" and can't think beyond dropbox and Google drive storage..
-
Sounds like a very interesting project, I would definitely play it! 😉

@Charmgoggles I only earn something if someone checks out and buys a product from online retailers such as WalMart. But there are some traffic from bots too, though I don't get anything from it.
-
With 40$ earned now I feel ready to leave my 9to5.
-
I wasn't aware of this turtle thing but I came across it recently upon reading the book from the inventor itself.
-
@skein I would want a bus driver who knows how to drive a bus, with or without license.
-
Yes, why can't they?
-
@aurghyadip I see, but honestly I don't think it is easy anywhere, even in countries like US or UK. Education is usually a very regulated business, and people exploring it tend do be conservative and dismiss innovation.
Good luck anyway, we need good initiatives to shake the ground a little bit. -
Ah, just remembered, have you ever come across tutorialspoint.com? They have an incredible amount of content, and if you search the website you will find that there are more than 30 paid writers to update the content. It is really not easy to give that stuff for free, I agree.

People do work for free in NGOs for example. Still I think it comes down to marketing, making an idea resonate with peoples emotions. I grant you might be a good dev because you've built a plataform, but we devs tend to be bad at this side of things. Try to find someone who knows marketing and pay him a beer for a small help.
