Same thing happened to me on Docker Hub as well, and I was like what the actual fuck!
Using Brave (https://brave.com) and the I don't care about cookies extension (https://i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu/...) was the solution for me. This sort of crap just isn't a part of my day anymore. -
@linuxxx Unfortunately you're right. The stuff they do and get away with is unreal.
-
IMHO, there's no problem at all when open-source package creators & maintainers ask for funding, but there's a time & place. Perhaps it could be more suitably placed in the npm web client (think GitHub Sponsors), not the CLI.
And if you're using npm with Node.js, you're in luck because Deno v1 just came out. It adopts the Go approach, where there's no centralized package manager. -
@linuxxx I understand & respect that completely, but for me it's a bit over the top. I vehemently dislike Facebook, but it's the only way I can keep in touch with old friends, so I still use it in a way that makes it harder for them to correctly profile me or collect reliable data off of me.
So if Signal obfuscates my metadata when I search for GIFs, it doesn't do Giphy or Facebook any favors, right? -
@linuxxx Signal anonymizes your Giphy search queries since late 2016: https://signal.org/blog/...

Sorry about that, it sucks. Please don't let that discourage you from being the awesome presenter you are!
-
Perhaps it's an honest mistake?
-
Holy fuck, man! Somehow that headline scared me even more than the Covid-19 news!
-
My browser crashed when I opened the link 😂

They are an absolute delight, but I can't imagine using them without any textual context. “🎉 Initial commit”, “🔧 Add tsconfig.json” and “📚 Update README” are awesome commit messages, IMHO.
-
@suprano Thank you very much!
-
@stackodev I know, right?! 😄
-
@buscedv Thank you so much - you're too kind!
-
@ewpratten Awesome, thanks! I hope it comes a tiny bit to your aid!
-
@ReverendLovejoy THAT would be cool! My name is MUCH harder than John Doe - I can tell you that 😄
-
@JhonDoe Thanks a lot!
-
@lxmcf Thank you so much - you're too kind!
-
@k0pernikus Didn't wanna wrap long words so as not to confuse them as separate words. That's why I made the long words horizontally scrollable instead of wrapping 👍
-
@jonii Thanks a bunch! Thanks for the feature idea - would be pumped to do it!
-
@kgbemployee Thank you - I hope it does!
-
@Fast-Nop Nice! 😄
-
@Fast-Nop LOL 😂 Actually I wish I could, but my memory fails me in dire moments of need!

@gitpush You need that break, bro 😂
-
`git commit -S --amend`: the mark of gentlemen, because they sign their commits! 😉
-
@lxmcf It's alright, bro 😄 You see that `undefined` over there? Java (the language which you write native Android apps in) doesn't have that, it only has `null`; whereas JavaScript has both `null` & `undefined`. And what framework is used to write native apps in JavaScript? React Native ⚛️

Leaving with maximum damage is the only thing that piece of shit deserves.

My university follows the German system; a *maximum* score of 0.7 and a *minimum* score of 5.
I will never comprehend the thought process employed in the design of that inverted system, which is counter-intuitive in every possible way. -
German University in Cairo FTW 🤘
