So basically they impersonated two real managers

Just spent the last 5 months procrastinating instead of asking for a different prescription (previous meds weren't working), you tell me
-
@tosensei I don't know, how is a car different from a wooden spoon?
-
@tosensei the non cynical version would be understanding that cryptocurrency (as a technology) has a purpose and a place, but - due to the unregulated nature of open source and the internet - it has been coopted by a lot of scammers, charlatans, and wannabes who can only talk in buzzwords and hype.
Financial scams have existed since the dawn of society, and digital money is no different in that regard. It just so happens that most people seem to completely lose their mind and forget any common sense when they're interacting with it.
The tech is not dumb - people are. -
Cocaine. It's cocaine.

@ostream The solution is hiring people who know how to secure a traditional database. Putting data on a blockchain means that if those same people screw up the encryption, the data will be forever breached AND available to everyone. There is no technical justification for using a blockchain to store private medical data, end of story. If you think otherwise, then you don't fully understand what a blockchain is or does.
-
sudo apt install python3-pip
pip3 install MyProgram

@ostream have you ever heard of "using the right tool for the job"? There is no scenario in which it would make sense to store private medical data on a public blockchain, full stop. Doesn't matter how many layers of encryption you're using, it's just plain wrong.
-
Please please please never ever ever store confidential data on a blockchain. Especially if you don't know what a blockchain is or how it works.

Matrix is kinda cool, but their handling of metadata is apparently kinda shit. Also their clients are all kind of a shitshow.
I wish somebody took Telegram's clients and just replaced their core with Matrix's stuff :/ -
@dooter have you considered mentioning this (the fact that this guy is making you increasingly uncomfortable) to your manager? (Assuming they are someone you can trust and/or they'll have your back)
Maybe try to figure out together a strategy to deescalate the situation with that guy, before he decides to push it any further.
Bonus: your ass is (should be) covered too, because now they'll know what's grinding your gears. -
@killames I suggest you look up the definition of the word "incel". It suits you.
-
But that's exactly the point: make modding as tedious and frustrating as possible, so that fewer people are incentivized/stubborn enough to do it.
Bonus points for dropping the number of modders to the point where you can say "Sorry, we've removed the ability to unlock the bootloader because almost nobody is using it anymore". -
Correction: enforcing 2FA **via SMS** is utter bullshit. Not only is it privacy-invasive, but also actually insecure. Anything other than TOTP is a fucking joke.

@ OP
Not your keys, not your coins.
Re: this thread
God I hate seeing crypto noobs who can only associate value with price and generalize the shortcomings of specific projects with all crypto. Y'all are why we can't have nice things.
Stop treating crypto like stocks and start sifting through the marketing crap to look for the few projects that actually get shit done. And until you have done any actual research on the merits of PoW and PoS, you are not qualified to discuss their merits and shortcomings. Stop spreading hearsay and bullshit. -
@ScriptCoded I'm not rich enough for dedicated cores lol. We're running on a CX21 cloud VM, 6 €/month baby!
-
@HitWRight @HiFiWiFiSciFi thank you for your suggestions! That seems like a great approach.
The main thing that caused my going into overtime was due to an unexpected issue with the platform I was working on (did I mention that I fucking hate Synology?) to complete one of the design goals.
I had to set up a Wireguard VPN that would autostart on boot. On any systemd-based system it takes just one single command, but Synology does a lot of weird fuckery with Upstart plus a lot of custom shit, so I had to learn how to write an Upstart init module from scratch (which is still buggy af because wg-quick is also weird and the PID tracking doesn't work, but fuck it at least it starts on boot). -
Honestly, if that LiPo has actually reached 0V it's actually a good thing that the controller actively refuses to let you charge it normally. Anything more than a few mA would turn that thing into a firebomb. Bringing a LiPo back from 0V is an exercise in futility at best, and a reckless dangee at worst, and you can bet your ass that someone somewhere would actually try it without having any idea of the danger they're in.
If instead you meant that the cell itself won't charge, then it's probably just degraded to death to the point that it can't even hold a charge anymore. A prolonged stay at 0V will do that too. (The chemical equilibrium is around 3.6-3.8V, and anything below 3V will cause degradation as well) -
Currently running mine on a Hetzner VPS with 2 cores and 4GB of ram. It supports 5-6 players just fine as long as nobody builds any lag machines, and we have plenty of farms and contraptions.
We used to run it on a VPS with 1 core and 1GB of ram even, but it would start losing ticks significantly after 3 players.
You have to keep in mind that your cpu time is shared on most VPS platforms, so you don't get to really enjoy every single cpu clock for yourself.
Also, I suggest you check out Paper: https://papermc.io/
It's like Spigot but even better in terms of performance, and it even takes advantage of any spare cores you may have for some background tasks. Makes it much easier to run stuff on tiny machines. -
PS: FUCK SYNOLOGY

@Chea the fact that it's untraceable is what makes it *real* money. Look up the definition of "fungibility".
Unlike most of ther projects (Bitcoin included) driven by pure hype and speculation, Monero is one of the few with an actual purpose that is seeing real usage. (No, Ethereum's NFTs and ponzi staking schemes do not count as real usage).
There's a reason why most DNMs have already moved to Monero-only. It's because it works. -
@Demolishun some password managers (like KeePass) give you a password strength indicator
-
Git gud (pun intended)
-
But she still got the source, and you still got paid less than agreed to. You didn't feel bad about asking for payment, why would you settle for accepting half of what you were owed?
-
Wait, they regressed again? LMAO

@F1973 still unsure about the scary part 😅
