OOP solves a lot of problems easily. But it cant solve every problem. Sometimes, you solve one or two problems and get a new problem because of your solution - a few days or weeks later. So its very important to know a lot of architecture and software design, before writing the application, but this will come the more code you write.

I think the problem with learning a scripting language is that you learn to code but not a lot of architecture. I dont know Haskell but Java will be a good choice. When you turn back to Python you will take over a lot of knowledge and write better architecture

I'm from Germany and I hated schoOl because they never understood why I prefer to programm instead of lerning for tests. IT subjects were like "learning word and powerpoint" and programming was writing HTML... But you are free to do what you want after you finished school. You can study computer science or do an apprenticeship as "Fachinformatiker". In other countries you have to pay a lot for your study or they dont have apprenticeships. So going to school isnt that bad - it opens a lot of oppertunities. So try to be as goog as possible so its easy to become what you want to be.
