"I test my code in prod" - YOLO Dev
-
@CaptainRant ok cool, can we add freelancing as something to close the gap in employment?
-
Ctrl + Shift + Delete that damn project folder.
-
I hope to join a company that let's it's employees choose between work from home or office.
-
What is this abomination 🤢🤢
-
@SortOfTested for a guy who has worked as a front end Vanilla JS and Angular developer for 2+ years with some back-end in Node and Java, what would be the learning path then?
-
You got the job because you were able to reverse a string? Man, some people have all the luck in the world.
-
@bittersweet would you be able to clarify this - I heard that there would be coding involved in devops if someone's coming in from the dev side and not from the ops side. Is this true and what degree can one expect to code while still working in devops?
-
@bittersweet thanks a lot!
-
@zymk so for a guy like me who just has 2 yrs of front-end experience in JS and little bit of Angular, if I wanted to get in to devops field, what should be my learning path until I can confidently apply to devops jobs?
-
@bittersweet very helpful, thank you!
-
@just8littleBit okay, gotcha. Thanks.
-
@just8littleBit so that means it's plausible that I could still be writing software code along side my other devops duties?
-
@magicMirror so basically we'd be working on/maintaining a bunch of projects at once/simultaneously for the company, right?
-
@magicMirror thank you, that was helpful. Like software projects last months or maybe a couple years, how long do devops projects last?
-
@thesagya could you elaborate on this please? Really thinking switching lanes from software development to devops and would love any feedback.
-
I just got a headache trying to read the caption 🤢
-
@AleCx04 oh any reason why mobile development is worse than web development?
-
@arcsector haha no, that's an old username. I currently do web development but looking to move to iOS.
-
Hahaha definitely feel this 😂
-
I actually pronounce it like the first half in "Carrot" 😂
-
Faith in humanity restored.
-
@vane I feel so ashamed because I did this at my previous job for 2 years and since I was the only developer I got away with it.
-
Hahahaha
-
Absolute noob here but I'm sure incognito mode might help a little bit?
-
@tekashi you mean leave India? By the way, I've also heard most of the actual development work happens in startups, is that true? So what about the nature of work in companies like TCS, Wipro etc. ?
-
@tekashi OMG really??? What I've also heard is that most of the jobs aren't even complete dev jobs either. Most of the time people make small enhancements and then rest of the work is just reporting and Ms Excel or word.
-
@jennytengsonM What you working on?
-
Will try to finish my Angular 8 course before going back to office on Monday as I was just assigned a shit ton of work this sprint. Will also be moving in to a new apartment on Sunday, not much stuff to move, couple of suitcases. That's it!
