@sha-i
No. This is government agency level incompetence. DoD or FEMA I'd bet. -
I think it's because the votes are a little more open here. We encourage an "upvote or move on" mentality.

@inukinator
This was a recompiled c variation I believe. It was a GitHub project someone was doing for education purposes -
Protip. Binder clips and duct tape are great at holding hp's together when you lose all the screws.

@iam13islucky
That's the only thing I could think of but I've never known Allo to image search like that and not recognize other cats. I've been looking into the theory of the procedural generation of it but there's no item UPC tags on the eBay page. I might file this as one of life's mysteries.... -
@billgates
Sounds like a win to me! Also thanks for the link. Taught me a few things too -
But did you learn something?

The worst part about this posting was that it was in response to a question about usability of a Java vs JavaScript program. Luckily one of the more intelligent group members fixed our broke minded friend within a few minutes. But these morons are out there. Beware....

@kenpeter yeah now that you mention it I haven't really seen anything with tips or advice. I think it's just a skill we pick up but fail to appreciate. You seem to have the right tools. Just keep at it. Pull code apart. Comb through kernels. Inspect website elements. Force yourself to look at it as much as possible. It will come with time.

My best practices advice I would give you I learned from outside computer science is to never symbol speak. Learn what each individual abbreviation, symbol, and short handing means and say it out even if it's only in your head. This will increase your understanding and allow you to better convey ideas in conversation. Other than that, keep up the practice. If it were easy everyone would do it.

@demiko if you can manage to forget what I wrote, I would recommend watching Mr.Robot. Great show if you stick with it.

Idk if it's a trick of the shadows but he almost looks happy. Like a subtle content smile has graced his spherical surface.

With my giant phone I only use the bottom right 25% of my screen for scrolling. If the add rant icon were there you'd end up with 50 rants from me about how I only wrote this cause I accidently hit the + again.

I never realized how much those look like fallout terminals.

I hear ya. I work in a secure data environment so anything I see at work is classified. I can't even carry my phone on me. But if you knew some of the things my co-workers tried you'd have no trust in national security.

I'll just hold my lg v10 and avoid all these problems.

@GaryCarneiro They've been doing this since last night. Probably the giant windows update and preps for the storm I was doing on top of the end of my billing cycle. Hopefully its not a cut since I do still need news when this is all over. But c'est la vie

Operating systems design and implementation by Tannenbaum is a book on Minix and Unix I bought off Amazon. You can usually find old college syllabi online and pick up previous editions of the course books for pennies on the dollar. Both my OS books were about 20 bucks combined.

I've scrolled past this post like three times and every time I try to tap it like it's my notification bar.

@lovengore
I still have to take it apart occasionally so I can't use anything to permanent. Plus I'm a sticker junkie so I like the flair. -
Script kiddies will be everywhere you go. Glad the rest of us are able to make up for it. Welcome to the club!

Sounds like we should do a devRant hackathon. Lookin at you @dfox....

What about a segment that allows teams to piece together a counter proposal as to why the opposite sides idea wouldn't work? Valid criticisms presented to the panel in some sort of written form.
