What is so bad about UAT? (actual question out of interest, never experiencd it)
-
Congrats
-
Good luck and keep us posted. Kotlin is on my list of things to learn. So I'd like to hear how it went. :)
-
Cold! :)

@gruff @TheGrandYeti I understand the need to be able to focus and work without interuption. Especially when you're getting interrupted for useless crap like: 'look what I did'.
However I think people that are to extreme in this, e.g. always wearing headphone and can never be interrupted or bosses that forbid informal contacts, are just arrogant idiots. (to be clear, I'm not saying you are those people)
Informal contacts are what make a team. And I find the informal route can often be used to get certain things done alot quicker than official channels/meetings.. For a while we've worked with 'flags' on our desks. Red meant don't interrupt right now. I liked it untill it was abandoned because some colleagues left it at red the whole time.. Again, arrogant fuckers.. -
You don't know that!! You might get rich!! I'm currently in the middle of a great opportunity, helping a friendly Nigerian ship gold to Europe and getting a huge cut! Let's get rich together!
-
Nicely done!
-
@nuubsthename It was a bit lame, I know. :p Wasn't trying to make fun of your idea btw. I really like it actually.
-
Argh. I hate it when people do that!! Student in my group project at school writes 'please work', 'pretty please', 'last try',... commit messages. Useless cunt.
-
@olback use your tired branch!
-
@Bitwise brilliant :D

One of our first programming classes in Python, our teacher had a trick question about this.. Spent about an hour trying to figure out why the hell my code wasn't working.. If it wasn't for that assignment, I probably wouldn't know about this either. :)
-
@Lahsen2016 oh, so it wasn't actually 5 minutes? Of course I realise it was an exaggeration. :) I'm just saying the actual time it needs to start up isn't that bad, even on my slightly above average spec laptop. Yes, it could be faster. But it's not like those couple of seconds will make a difference (And that's coming from someone who's almost always short on time) You don't start up VS every few minutes I assume? People today, everything has to be 'now'.
I can only hope when I graduate and start developing RL projects that clients are a bit more patient. But judging by my current experience and the stories here that's probably very naive and the opposite will more than likely be true.. -
Really? I think you have a problem.. My laptop loads it in like 10 seconds..
-
@filthyranter I've told him, other group members told him,... That's why it angers me. I'm learning to and I'm sure I make a ton of mistakes. But when teachers, peers, or whoever give me feedback, I listen and try to do better. This guy just says: 'that's how I work' and that's it.
-
@lakeman I probably stared at it too long by now. trying not to give away anything for others so: I found nothing magical about it. And "running to the Hill" didn't work either.. :)
-
Damnit, I had that allready! And found something related to your first clue on Wikipedia because of it.. But then I'm stuck..
-
@Wackoo damn, I did not think this through!
-
@onkarj :D True, never thought of it like that.
-
Holy ***** that's a nice bike man!! Since we're sharing :) (The round nosquidding decal isn't there anymore, Don't know why I had it there..)
-
Ah, the perfect hobby to clear the head. :) What bike do you have?
-
Euhm, we all turned 18 and had to start our lives at some point. Work-life balance is tough for everyone in the working population. And if the bar is high, it's usually high for everyone in the team, not just the young generation.
I'm sorry, I have issues with hiding behind stuff like this..
Look up 'Simon Sinek on millenials'. I don't think he's completely right but do find he has some valid points..
@neodite exactly my experience -
@ODXT oh, I was never planning to work for them :) My reply is a sidenote on how expecations of people have changed for the worse.. I do get your rant isn't about that and agree with you.
-
@intromatt but but... When I decide I want something at 10 in the evening, it NEEDS to be delivered tomorrow.. I don't care if workers in Amazon warehouses are being exploited, I want that micro-usb to usb-c converter I just now realised I can't live without.. That's how things work now..
-
Have you tried entering your email in the password field? :D
-
I'm far from a marketing expert myself but maybe building a network on LinkedIn can help?
-
@Gogeta70 :D such a shame we moved on from that, what will we do without gems like this..
-
For a moment there I thought I was on to something.. Damn you!
-
:D Can't help picturing a very frustrated developer going: "Fuck this, 1, 2, 10 or 100 didn't work. I'll just go for 8675309. That'll get that button to the top!"
