It's so blurry with these sorta things. I can't tell if they actually care about privacy, or care about maintaining their business, and customer base. Are these things mutually exclusive? I don't know! It's like when a beauty company tries to sell the idea that's it okay to be comfortable in your own skin... After you buy our products.

It sounds like they're just some youngsters who simply don't know/understand something. If possible, you could maybe explain to them what the little numbers and letters next to their signal bars mean (if it isn't too weird, of course). Everyone has to start somewhere!

Hey I really get this. My parents are/were the same - material goods in place of emotional affection. They would turn the wifi off at night (mind you, I was 20yo and they were doing that), and it would absolutely make things worse. My dad once trashed a laptop that I bought with my own money because I played video games (yet playing games was my one solace outside of studying).
