@M1sf3t sounds great :) thanks for the help
-
@Totchinuko right-o :) I'll see how it works out. Shouldn't overthink it after all. Thanks again!
-
@Totchinuko that's interesting. And a bit scary tbh :-/
-
@Totchinuko I heard the renting system is a bit odd. You get on a list and the owner chooses you. Something like that :-?
-
Thank you for the replies. Fortunately, I have learned a bit of French in the past, so the language barrier doesn't scare me as much (but I definitely don't want to use French in any workplace). This is going to sound petty, but which of the two has better internet? I'm sure it won't be my number one factor, but I'm used to having 1Gb/s connections and a huge drop in quality would suck.
-
@Alfer that sounds kind of dangerous :-?
-
@BroCow what is pbr?
-
@DGApps @Mitiko @BroCow is there any situational benefit? As in, I imagine Unreal might be better if you're not targeting mobile (but that's just a wild guess).
-
I don't develop games, but I'm thinking of delving into it. Can you tell me why Godot is better? Aside for the obvious licensing difference and the fact that it's C++ vs C#.
-
@nerd-san or html :((( (see input type datetime-local)
-
@fidellr :)) Yeah, it stumped me to
-
@nikolatesla as a personal taste, I love JS. So, I agree. I'm in the Mongo - Node camp almost all the way. But let me ask you this: express vs koa vs another framework. What do you think is best?
-
PHP in almost all cases
-
That moment when you actually know where a picture on devrant was taken :D
-
Sounds about right :))

I like to focus on what I'm passionate about. At the end of the day almost everyone is stressed about social interaction. Like when I'm in an elevator with a neighbor and we both try to stay as silent as possible and avoid saying anything except hello and goodbye. I'm a different person in different circumstances and that's ok. Now, if you want to make friends, you're better off establishing what you like. Then other people will jump on that train very naturally.
TLDR; Just think about how other people are awkward and shy and remember what makes you you. Embrace the awkwardness (unless you strangle kittens or something) -
And it's kind of crazy what features you can get with very little config @Cyborg
-
What are you working on? @nbamaral
-
Short answer is that they're scripts that run outside a web app (but still in the browser). I'm going to use them for precaching my app, syncing with server data (stuff like making post requests that wait for your internet to be alive) and push notifications in the browser. Shortest way of putting it is that your apps can work offline too. @tahnik

Can happen in one line in flexbox. Side-note: I love you, flexbox 💓

It's insane how many people just listen to buzzwords without taking context into account. After countless experiences like the one you mentioned I think clients need us to think on their behalf. That's kind of why I'm slowly shifting towards consulting them. I'm not sure I nailed it yet, but I basically ask them what they're trying to achieve (ex: more conversions, clear UI, etc.). The only problem I have is it can sound a bit patronizing.
-
Dunno much C#, but TS is pretty cool indeed. I have to say, I probably wouldn't have tried it if not for Angular, though. All in all, I'm a fan now :P
-
@panikdkernel yup. That' what I use it for too :P
-
@creator I was really skeptical, but I think VS Code is awesome. Haven't figured out how to select block levels (webstorm's ctrl+w), but I haven't really needed it yet. The extensions are also pretty sweet and the load time is amazing. Damn. I sound like an ad.
-
Is he/she asking because of paranoia or curiosity?
-
Bless the Rep in that conversation.
-
@MadHatrix God, yes! :)) My 5 year old sister has more common sense and patience than some of the clients I've had to deal with.
-
Well, technically, it's really because of the "="
-
So true :)). And when I actually start cracking at an issue, I get a Skype call.
