Check out CodingTrain on YouTube. For no programmers, I would argue it's absolutely the BEST source to learn it all. Start with the intro playlist, it's unbelievably complete, easy, fun and if you watch him enough, you'll be able to learn some fucking high level concepts. Good luck!

@kenogo Dude. Encryption is like the key point of a VPN. Unencrypted is something like proxy.

SSL isn't all. There are *many* ways to misconfigure it. Also, privacy is one of the main reasons for VPN which SSL doesn't give you.

But not visiting non-HTTPS sites sounds nice but not really plausible if you surf the internet a lot. VPN just encapsulates it all in a safe tunnel.
