@Coffe2Code it has everything I've been looking in a mobile browser all this while.
Privacy focused. URL at the bottom. Dark mode everywhere. And it's very fast. -
@JamesKent tech is so huge. Doing a specialization in a specialization is mentally exhausting.
-
Hi I'm lost.
-
2 years is a long time @lxmcf
I've just started. -
Worrying about my job. Constantly.
-
Similar scenes here.
-
Sucks, I should've known this sooner. I was thinking of something like a Dev focused DevOps role would fit me.
I guess that's what full stack developer is. -
So cool.
-
@newguy1974929 that is another reason I've seen and forgot to mention.
-
I guess I know that feel. In your early days most people won't find the exact thing which is comforting. The work place might be iffy, the job you are doing might not feel right. I'm in the same position.
-
Sounds like aws lambda, I'm thinking will there be less of operators needed in the future?
-
Follow infosec people on Twitter. That's another gold mine.
-
These are the sites I follow. They are pretty good.
-
Hey, if you're new to Linux, just use something which is friendly. Any distro is fine, I'd say Ubuntu or fedora. Use encryption on disks. Lookup LUKS or setup LVM encryption during distro install.
Not sure what you're talking about encrypted containers? What does this achieve? -
Btw I use Arch.
-
Running pretty much the same config on fedora. Oh god there were some serious GPU driver issues. Been fixed since 4.18 kernel.
-
@beegC0de I detest math 😂
-
@FrodoSwaggins hahahaha what the 😂
-
Holy cow. That's amazing.
-
The level of incompetence you see in the higher ups is simply frustrating. You wouldn't want to be around such people, but you are gonna find these people wherever you go. 🤢
-
I've also seen that on Android I'm always using 70% RAM. Be it 2 GB, 3 GB, or 4GB, it always has 30% free RAM.
-
I thought Devs love Mac.
-
What the heck. People still think that way? Cmon girl coders are awesome.
-
Primary reason why I didn't get a OP6 or any other glass phone. I don't want my phone to crack with the slightest bumps. I'm very happy with my Nokia 7 plus, it's built like a tank.
-
Arch might be a lot of hassle at first, but you can avoid those of you use manjaro or antergos. It has an amazing package manager, so that's one reason to be on the ship. People who like to have control over their systems prefer arch, also if you wanna *rice* your desktops.
-
I'll check the series out for sure. I believe in work should be fun. Unfortunately my fun is kinda Dev/sec together.
-
Yup, it's too broad of a domain. No two people in infosec would ever have the same experience. Some might work on crypto, some might just run scanners the whole day and call it a day.
It is not rewarding professionally, when I'm putting my heart and soul on a sec project and others are lazing around. It's difficult to stand out even. -
Hahaha, yeah security is cool to follow. So many things happening in this space everyday. Why I was initially attracted towards it. Also everyone was getting on the coding train, I thought there would be too many Devs, or would not be paid enough because of the availability.
-
I agree with you, I am aware of all the branches of security, what I'm experiencing is, that pentests are sometimes boring. You are looking for a needle in the haystack, and I don't like searching for things. I call this the hackers mindset. But I have a builders mindset. I like doing technical things, but infosec didn't quench my tech thirst. Does it get better/fun later?

Not every manager.
