I cannot say for dot net. But my first job was a consultant job doing SharePoint.
I quit in 4 months, best decision ever.
There are only 2 ecosystems I hate touching, any microsoft related (windows servers, C#, mssql, etc) and Node. -
@-ANGRY-STUDENT- The company I signed with is a social media company started from Asia and another company is from the US.
-
@devdiddydog I signed a contract with one of them now, I am resigning today from the current company. The funny thing is both companies gave me about 1-2k more than what I asked for.
It is just a bit troublesome with a work visa because I am a foreigner. -
These days I just look at their profile to see which company they are from and what position. If it is from the recruitment agency or some random company, I simply ignore the message.

Stop giving a F on things that I cannot control
talking with SO about the shits happen at work helps a lot also -
I changed back to `master` as the default in settings.
How the fuck ppl get triggered over things like this. Then how about `master degree`. They should also rename that so snowflakes dont feel offeneded. -
@kai18 no I am not 😅
-
I took a week holiday after completing 2 projects continuously at work. I thought I don’t need it til I actually have one.
-
But you know it is still better than being unemployed
-
I started working at big company and now more than a year at startup. I will tell you based on my experience.
Big company life is boring I would say, most of the time I spent learning tools/framework I found it old and some really were outdated. Work life balance, that’s the best thing of my first company.
Deadlines were great, lots of events and hangouts but the personal growth? Not really for my case. My friend is still there and he learnt pretty much nothing (other than management and business related).
My second job was startup. I learnt lots of stuffs, not just technical stuffs but also how to deal with assholes. Pay was slightly higher but no work life balance and they did suck my life out.
My third work is overall good, although it’s a startup there is a work life balance and I enjoy it so far. (Of course it’s not always rainbows and unicorns but much better than my second job). -
@Demolishun true, I would say it depends on situation and optimize the code to some degree it not to the point of spending hours fixing problems created from optimization
-
@alexbrooklyn I guess time to "throw" the resignation letter
-
I started doing workouts. 4 days a week, the other 3 days I play games or sometimes I work on “side projects”
During weekend, I go out, meet with friends and chill. -
I dont have any issues with ios 13 itself tho, I have been using since Beta. May be bugs exist on some devices.
However, some apps do not work well. Like my banking app, it just crash sometimes. -
May be because I do not have 2 years degree, I do not understand his logic behind
-
I suggest you try i3 with polybar. I find it faster to use (after learn and made some custom shortcuts) and lightweight too. I still have KDE on my machine tho (because I find UI beautiful rofl).
Oh btw, I use arch. (almost forgot to mention) -
Those sugary stuffs can makes you productive, but you can not expect someone to run IDE in all places. In the end it comes down to subjective decisions not objective decision.
Anddd I will just drop this here -
@torbuntu in my previous place, not only weekends, even the late night hours they message me.
Well after suffering for few months I decided to leave, although they said they will give me higher salary, I rejected it. Best decision I have ever made.
Those kind of things slowly eat your mind and motivation. -
I am offended that you think I will be offended at everything
-
I will be honest, not always when I was in Uni. Mostly I told them where to look up than spoon feeding them with direct answers.
Personally I hate people who just want direct solution of their problems not how to solve by themselves. -
But don’t forget to push your commits before you start running
-
Yeah that is stupid, I agree too
-
I am fullstack dev. I do the whole stack from writing code to making sunny side up and flip burgers in kitchen.
-
I have seen a guy who did SELECT * FROM TABLE and did for loop and other queries inside the loop.
Not saying very important (actually depends on how good you want to be), but if at least understanding basic DS and time complexity, there will not be “but it works” code. -
Yes in most cases, imo reading two lines seems easier than one long line of code with horizontal scrolling.
Also when I write markup languages, JS, I write with 2 spaces indentation. -
Once you use mechanical keyboard, you will never go back to membranes. It’s just feels good to type.
I use Anne Pro at work (Gateron Blue Switch) and Razer Ornata Chroma at home.
Anne Pro is good, compact 60% keyboard. I actually love it (my worktable is clean). Ornata is good if you like customizations. I sometimes play games and the wrist rest is super comfortable.
I bought Ornata for around $80 bucks during sales. -

Timex weekender fairfield is my goto. I prefer simple and minimalist watches.
Fossil watches are on my radar also. -
Hands down VS code. Like they said above, VS code is way smoother than Atom. Also there is good plug-ins on code for JS. I do React dev.
PS: after using VS for so long I am looking IDEs from Jetbrains. -
I want to know where you get that wallpaper 😅
Also yours looks gorgeous
