Hows the leetcode grind ?
-
- Get a mouse cage ( they are available in India atleast.)
- put a favourable food item for the mouse ( cheese ?) And wait for it to get in it. -
@ochuwa well that was the plan and still is
-
Are you even a dev if you haven't done that?
-
@KatatonDzsentri yeah my only thing is that the job i am at i have a really chill manager, idk if that will be the case somewhere else.
But yeah let me brush up my interview skills and go at it why not -
@Avimelekh i wasnt looking for a job, got offered so thought of having a chat to see what kind of salary i would be looking at.
More of a scenerio where you are happy in a relationship but someone else comes to flirt with you 😂 -
@AlmondSauce figured, also understood your frustrations with those companies. When i was starting out my career i fantasized working there. Even recently one of our architects got into facebook and wanted me study for a year and apply there because well the package is something else.
Idk if i am too comfortable or not but i have a lot of freedom, my work is not too demanding and my team is pretty friendly even after 2 years of working with them. Idk if its a good idea to leave all that just for a higher package. -
@johnmelodyme if something is compulsory for a job would you say that if you dont have it you cant do the job ?
-
@johnmelodyme c is a strong language and having a grasp over it is beneficial in some regard but saying that you are " a real programmer" only when you know C is a little too extreme.
If you use python as your language, get paid for it. Know your way around then you are a developer. Coming from someone who liked c as a language and doesnt use python as professional language. -
@AlmondSauce is there a specific reason for that?
-
In my university they even used borlands compiler or something which was hardest thing to debug on this planet.
-
Are you from india as well? As i was taught c as my first language as well. I really liked it but i can see where you are coming from.
-
@hashedram I know alot of people in their mid 20's doing that, i was doing this when i was probably a teenager but not now. I can obviously see the problem with it.
-
Being a jr dev, this feels so true. But sadly that amazing senior is leaving the company :/
-
@Nanos love that, " i am disabled!!"
-
Not as related as silicon valley but if you want something related to AI and something serious then " person of interest" is one of my fav
-
@Pickman as far as iknow a try catch would be a more expensive operation than an if
-
@smb26 the task deadline reason was for another graduate, for me it was the punctuality, i never missed a task deadline and thats what he even mentioned that my team is happy with my work and my lead gave a good feedback.
-
@SoulSkrix sounds like a plan :D i will just conciously make an effort to fix this from now on.
-
@electrineer na didnt miss any meetings.
-
@smb26 the work place is pretty flexible with timings, the other day i had some important visa appointment so they allowed me to get back after 11 and if i am not feeling well i can take a day off or work from home moreover you can get in before 10. Seems like i messed up but didnt realize i messed up in time, i will surely fix this but i am bit stressed about this if this becomes the reason for termination.
-
@randomnumber i missed one meeting in the last 5 months and that was less about me being late and more about the calender not syncing, i think its more because my manager in a 1 to 1 mentioned it in a really informal way and i took it as if i was taking more time during the lunch time which i fixed but he meant in a general way so he got mad that i didn't fix it. They are paying is above the avg so i dont really think its about the money as most of the grads have been passed ( i think) except 4-5 due to different reasons.
-
@Root orrr he might get sued from logitech 😂
-
@D3add3d you are a university professor. Rip
-
@2erXre5 thats the kind of leap of faith i was thinking of taking as well but the problem is i have a clear cut choice thats why i am bit confused.
Is there a difference between Performance testing and performance engineering ? because i worked with two different senior developers who gave me tasks which were vastly different.
In the first one we were doing testing of UI in a performance environment for any problems, where i was writing some unit tests which were supposed to be added to the already ready tests. The tasks given by the other dev were more related to hitting an SP or an endpoint to see whats the performance impact of the changes they made. Is this the difference between performance testing and performance engineering ? -
Cheeky
