@keshk You.talking('about'); // me, mate?
-
@creeperjack I'm so glad you liked it! Noroc (EN: Cheers)! Now eat well (from the romanian cuisine, naturally) and, if time allows it, it'd be great if you'd also visit some nice places (either populated or wild), hopefully you'll turn into our ambassador and cut into that yucky prejudice that we are a country of thieves and (bad kind of) gypsies. Not that there aren't any, but which country doesn't?
Eh, i got carried away, enjoy your stay to the fullest 🍻🥃☕ -
@thatgirl i thought they're already famous worldwide 😂, i don't know if he'll enjoy them as much as we do, but he should at least try them 😁
-
@creeperjack i urge you to try some good homemade plums Brandy (we call it țuică, your girlfriend should've mentioned it). It's like our national drink, i wouldn't trade a single sip of it for a ton of the commercial poison that they sell as whiskey in most of our stores. Anyway, that's what makes the world spin for the "commoners" here, totally recommend it if you're into spirits. I can only hope you'll find someone who knows how to make it, I've tasted some pisswasser of a Brandy myself, urgh
-
@creeperjack but where are you from, if i may ask? Is your culture very different from ours? Or are you just nervous/excited about meeting her parents?
I'm not an expert in the Moldova region (the romanian region, not the neighboring republic) but i have no doubts your newly found "relatives" will be able to show you some niceties of our country.
I'll drink to you, have a safe and pleasant trip -
@creeperjack your girlfriend is most likely a hottie, that region is famous for them 😁
That was meant as a compliment, don't take it wrong -
@creeperjack which city/town/region?
-
🚩 Well shit.
-
I can't wait to play some titles that had no official Linux support. Tried workarounds, got laughable results at best.
-
@Condor i'm a little put off by the triple power outlet, the one with a charger in it on your desk. Have you never had some metal parts fallen on it and you eager to grab them off of it? That'd shiver me timbers!
-
@poetrique yeah, had multiple weird issues with the PHP SOAP client in the past and Google had zero thoughts on either of them.
-
@Lythenas F6 does the same thing (focuses the address bar), probably also preselecting it, I'm not sure of that.
-
From what you wrote, I'm disgusted by what the human society has become... Are you telling me that a guy who made an Uber clone in such a short timeframe (and tried it in many languages) is now homeless? Is that literal or are you just referring to a financial hard time (unemployment)?
-
Looks more like a sunburnt pelican to me, but hey! A++ for the effort and passion put into it! Bravo!
-
I have a Casio SGW-100, it's rated at 200m water resist, had a bunch of showers with it, swam in the sea, no issues. Also, if I remember correctly, it's made from specifications of the Belgian army, so should be a tank. So far it has been 😁 it just doesn't have that radio sync feature
-
@htlr more like they mistyped "retiring programming guru, Master of all but PHP, co-creator of Unix, supreme guardian of the secrets of the Byte"
-
@djsumdog good to hear you're OK. Also, good idea about refreshing that CV, you never know
-
So? Any repercussions? What happened after your manager heard it? Did (s)he hear it? You beast, why the frack are you leaving these cliffhangers, you sick bastards...
-
@mngr kudos to you for offering the English translation when commenting in your native language. This should be enforced somehow through the devRant Code of Conduct!

Or when you have to put the current development on hold and start another one, because the world will collapse without it. Also, this scenario repeated at least twice in a day... Yeah, I've lived that, multiple times. Got what you mean.
🙁😖😭 -
Random German: "hold mein bier..."
-
This reminds me of that movie staring Sean Connery, with the ants producing some cancer treatment or something like that 😂
-
I have "Battle for Wesnoth" installed for such occurrences. Also a pool table, a ping-pong table and some gaming consoles are available. "Too bad" the internet connection is pretty stable here 😂 so those are only acceptable during lunch break
-
hey, looks interesting (judging by the few bits i understood about it)! Good luck with the development!
The website may not be full of blings, but i prefer it's simplicity to a lot of "modern" contenders by far! -
Got my driving licence at 36. Yeah, better later than never
-
I stopped using razors, i just trim it using an electrical haircutter and that's it. Never had complaints or weird looks, simple and fast.
-
@bittersweet hey, new stuff to learn! Thanks for that!
You've just triggered me, I keep thinking of ways or even some hacks that may solve your issue. But i have a meeting in a bit, be back later -
@bittersweet oh, ok, i have to admit that i pulled that out of my theoretical ass, i have confused the phpdoc with return type hinting (I'm pretty new to php7+).
But might work to hint in the @return phpdoc and hint the return type to : ?array. Or, wrap the collection in a specialized iterable object, which would have the current() method hinted to the YourItemInterface, to allow both Pear and Apple implementing the interface.
Uh, my mind starts melting, it's hard to explain things in written form 😁 -
@Condor well, the author actually starts with explicitly telling you that he won't talk about the cancerous effects of smoking, mostly focuses on the positive aspects of quitting and how the addiction is actually psychological, rather than chemical. This last bit helped me greatly escape without any side effects of quitting, like craving and such.
Yes, it was a genuine recommendation based on the success I personally had with it, while I openly admitted that it didn't work on my colleague that tried it. Again, I suspect she didn't really want to quit, she may have thought that the book will do miracles, which no book can. You really must want to quit for it to work.
Here's for success, no matter the source / method 🍻 -
I lived exactly this. The task prolonged so much more than anticipated that i literally had resignation on my mind. Fucking disgusting shit and contradicting with your team mate on so many concepts
