@MrEliptik @lazyDev Here's the link - https://github.com/yashovardhan99/...
It's not much. There are many things that need to be improved. Its basically a stopwatch library which allows you to start, stop, pause, resume and even split/lap. I had never written a library before so I wanted to try this out! Also, there were no stopwatch libraries for android (Chronometer does not allow much customization and you cant directly pause it) and making multiple threads for a simple thing like a stopwatch can be a tedious process for some. -
@ganjaman I don't like to exaggerate but I literally spent hours fixing a scroll view yesterday. I don't know about the other dude commenting and checking his profile, he seems like an iOS dev. Maybe they don't have these problems in iOS. But yeah, if my 1 year spent on Android is anything, adjusting views just to your liking and making it look good in all screens and all situations is really really difficult!
-
@ganjaman oh yeah. Thanks for adding that!
-
@crapped you're telling me you've never spent hours trying to fix a single view in Android? Then with all due respect, seems like you haven't really experienced Android yet
-
Did you go to the hacktoberfest + ai challenge workshop and do this?
-
@sid-sun next plan : move class groups to telegram?
-
@notlikethis which xkcd is that please?
-
This made me realise I've the bug in an app I made as well. I'm guessing the on click listener is still active while the other activity is launched so the double tap gets registered as two seperate clicks launching two activities. I guess making the activity singletop could solve this but I guess there could be some downsides to that.

@xzvf can confirm. My friend who's trying game Dev repeatedly complaints of how hard it is to even set up unity in Linux
-
@mrsulfat that thing has already been tried. It works ok but then you can't have really difficult questions which require time.
Also, if I'm successful in such a web app, I'll also be pretty much screwed by it.. if you know that I mean -
@heyheni pretty sure the last time I attended his class, it was called "Object oriented programming in Java".
All other teachers are really nice in my second year. He's the only one who doesn't know what he's doing -
@HarleyQuinn maybe it's due to the system background processes. I've tried disabling almost all extras like onedrive etc which stay in the background but it's really slow on windows. On Linux, I can finally use Android studio with a browser open.
On windows, it was a nightmare to have anything open besides Android studio! -
@shaji Truecaller doesn't agree with you... It says it's your number.
-
@Alice the real one is actually PowerPoint tables
-
@2lazy2debug but what if we are 2lazy2doIt
-
@Insomniac-coder only if people understood this...
-
@agupta628 I need to disconnect it from the laptop which would mean after the call, I'll have to again wait for the gradle to build.
-
Let's talk about Android studio (also by Google!)
-
@yatanvesh RAM. I've 4GB of RAM and for Android studio that's the minimum. For the emulator to run smooth, you need at least 6-8 GB. I'd once tried it when my phone's USB port wasn't working properly. It literally froze my PC and took a hell lot of a time just to boot up. They say they've improved the emulator speed but I don't wanna take that risk. It's much easier to just have my mobile close by and debug on it.
Oh and I'm running windows for the time being so... -
@psukys @Santosh62 haha, that's a nice idea! I'll definitely try making that!
-
Thanks a lot! I just joined devrant and I was like wait what's this 'social' thing they're talking about?
