    Out of curiousity, who provides the learning materials? Do you hire instructors or will you write the content yourself?

    @alexbrooklyn
    Visit the website here www.thedevelopersplanet.com
    It is just a fun project and I am a college student actually there are some features I want to implement in it and I need some people who love to do open source development and are ready to work on it.
    You can contribute in any way you want, by mentioning the bugs, giving pull requests, suggestions etc,
    Github Link for project is https://github.com/ishank47/...

    @ishank-dev Please make it https, there's no reason to have it unsecured, letsencrypt is free

    What is your webserver technology? So that you can remove the ugly .php after the page name

    Also, what php framework? Laravel or symfony etc.?

    (I could look this up in the source cod, but I'd like to hear your choices)
  • 1
    cool i will do that,
    I am new to hosting
  • 1
    @alexbrooklyn
    no such framework just basic PHP
  • 1
    @ishank-dev try docker♥️

    Or perhaps I could contribute to it... I'm quite bored rn
  • 0
    @ishank-dev I personally find that a massive issue, since frameworks provide a nice base structure

    Not that using vanilla makes it impossible, just... harder
  • 1
    sure please do it
  • 0
    Would you be opposed to start using a framework like symfony?

    And docker/ansible?
  • 1
    You can go ahead with it,
    I will get to learn it as well
  • 2
    @alexbrooklyn website is https now
  • 0
    What kind of webserver/hosting do you have?
  • 2
    Please, NEVER use md5 for passwords. Ever. I can crack almost any md5 hash in nanoseconds. Use bcrypt or argon2.

    Also, consider upgrading to PDO. I could help with that later.

    @PrivateGER
    Wow, I am getting to know a lot of new things here
    Thank you guys
  • 1
    @PrivateGER oh boy didn't even notice that

    Also using OOP and php7 stuff is something this project needs, also a composer setup etc.

    The current way is - with no offense intended - primitive, in my eyes at least

    Is this project already in production btw? Or is it running in test mode? We have work to do ⚒
  • 1
    @ishank-dev do you want us to fork it? Or do you prefer a collaborator-approach?
  • 1
    @alexbrooklyn It is running in test mode, there are a lot of changes required and some new features need to be added as well.
    You guys can fork it and start working on it.
    If you prefer the collab approach I am fine with that as well! just send over your emails
  • 1
    meanwhile, I'll prepare a properly formatted readme for this project
  • 0
    @ishank-dev do you by any chance have a code review/pr procedure?
  • 1
    @alexbrooklyn
    no such procedure we will see how it goes first,
    I don't want people to leave things in the middle, thats the only thing I expect
  • 0
    I'll dockerize it first and after that start going to Symfony, since I strongly believe the project needs it

    Please answer this tho, where/how are you hosting it?
  • 1
    does that answer your question?
    I am new to hosting
  • 0
    Nog nooit van Drontem gehoord

    Do you have ssh access?
  • 1
    @alexbrooklyn
    I have single shared access plan
    and it does not have ssh access,
  • 1
    @ishank-dev How do you deploy stuff atm ?
  • 1
    Can we chat somewhere?
  • 1
    How about Discord?
  • 1
    That sounds great, but I would prefer to chat if thats okay, it gets easier to remember stuff that way
  • 1
    @alexbrooklyn
    Are there multiple ways to deploy?
    I use the cpanel provided by hostinger. and paste my files there.
    and connect it to the database through tmy config file
  • 1
    Discord is a chat platform.
  • 1
    @ishank-dev thousands upon thousands of ways to deploy, docker containers, k8s config, ssh, docker daemon, ftp, sftp, copy + paste, scp etc. etc.
  • 1
    lol sorry
    I used it once when my friend called me up for online gaming so I presumed its a group audio chat
