I would really love to make a devRant SwiftUI client.
But the restrictions that it can not be published in the store turns me off.
Also, even as a massive fan of native development, I have to admit that for this particular case, flutter is a better idea.
Or PWA, as @kiki suggested. -
If I would to recreate devrant, I would implement markdown and linkPreview feature that's for sure.
-
@WildOrangutan I deleted it just in case. I will recreate it after we got the approvals.

@johnmelodyme for name, dunno, maybe
rantdev, developerrant, rantingdevs
@Lensflare with all those apple restrictions and release delaying, not releasing on app store may be a good thing :) On Android it's possible for the app to update itself, not sure if you can do that on iOS. -
@WildOrangutan delays of possibly a few days shouldn't be a problem for this kind of project.
I‘m more concerned about who will provide a developer account and pay the annual $100 😅
As for updates, it works exactly like Android: updates are provided via the store. The user can set it up to update automatically. -
@Lensflare instead of "buy me a coffee" button on GitHub, we can have "buy me apple store listing"
-
can you tell more about no longer being maintained by the creators? I hadn't heard about it
-
@darksideofyay they just haven’t been active for a bit and people are losing their minds 🤷♂️

@AleCx04 so far we need mobile dev to collaborate together and get approval from the creators.
