Having pets is a good way to prepare yourself for working in a brown-field environment.

When your cat or dog shits on the floor, you get the same feeling as when you need to dive into a legacy code base.

You know you can't just leave it there, and yet you still want to find anything else to do except for touch the pile of shit in the middle of the room.

Meanwhile you know your users are going to end up trampling over it and mashing it into your carpet.

@irene Agree on that one. Civilised cat or dog won't do that. Rabbit on the other hand...

Cats and dogs still need to be trained. Civilized has nothing to do with it. Are you both trying to tell me you've never had to clean up shit in your life? :P

exactly why it's called brown field

@xorith well... only if some shit attached to my cat's fur. Even then it was next to his litter box and he loudly meowed and tried to bury it.

To be honest my cat is really clean one. Even when still partly anesthetized after sugery, he crawled down from sofa, through the room, to pee into the litter box. And he did it few times, cause we thought he was afraid and carried him to some other places every time he moved from place we left him.
