I recently started using Linux on my desktop.

I just love how when I see some minor thing I don't like about the operating system I can just change it myself!

Want to remove the menu icon? Simple change to the settings. Want your downloads folder to be clean? Simple cron job which asks you if you want to clean your downloads folder every day.

Man I love having the freedom to screw up my operating system!

    That thing with the cronjob actually sounds like quite a good idea, thank you :-)

    @simo002m I made one for emptying the trash bin as well, but I'm kind of worried I am going to regret using it

    @mnitschke Well probably. No need for a trash bin though if all you use is rm

    @simo002m I'm using gvfs-trash in my script. I like having that safety net of knowing that I can still get my file back

    @mnitschke Well it is nice, I was just kidding, although I personally use rm xD

    @simo002m that's bold... I like that

    @mnitschke if you're on GNOME you can empty the trash automatically in Settings > Privacy > Auto Clear Trash

    @DuckyMcDuckFace I'm using cinnamon, but I'll keep that in mind

    I don't like it when I connect a 27" 1080p monitor to my 14" 1440p laptop and everything on that monitor is ugly and huge.
    How do I change that in Linux?
