Totally the best possible excuse for fewer USB ports on a laptop: "It's more streamlined!"

Yeah, when I am on the go and need that one additional port, my first thought will be "well, thankfully it at least is streamlined! That's helpful!"

It's better to not have a single usb port. Then you don't need to buy usb devices.

If it wasn't streamlined you wouldn't have space to travel with your USB devices

@electrineer How am I going to get files off the computer then?

While I'd normally agree with you, I don't see a practical example of when I'd need more than 2-3 ports on the laptop itself. Yes, I normally have like 10 things attached to it, but they all go through a USB hub that's attached to the monitor which connects to the laptop through one cable.

@kamen I for sure can as they removed every single port. So you need an USB device for a jack, UTP, HDMI. The one thing that is good about MacBooks is that they come with 4 usb-c ports.
I have a 2 port laptop and I can't use my USB auth hardware at the same time with my headphones and docking setup (charging, screen, kb and mouse). Or be in a meeting room that requires usb to connect to the cam/speaker/mic setup and a separate one for hdmi and still be able to use my auth hardware.
Everything is usb-c nowadays so we need at least 3 ports and a mini jack or 4 ports
