I wonder how old the oldest file in any RAM drive is.

By that, I mean what the longest time a file resided in a RAM drive is.

    I think static ram and a battery then it could maintain state for a long long time. This is how cmos settings are maintained. I think some Apple II cards did this.

    There's save files from NES still going strong out there. Likely 30-35 years old

    RAM loses the data approximately 5 minutes after it loses power.

    So old NES games can keep their saves if you manage to swap the battery in less that a few minutes :p

    (Or you attach a second power source like they do with heart surgery)
